I. Introduction
The main characteristics of an amplifier are Linearity, efficiency, output power, and
signal gain. In general, there is a trade off between these characteristics. For example,
improving amplifier’s linearity will degrade its efficiency. Therefore knowing the
Importance degree of each one of these characteristics is an essential step in designing an
Amplifier. This can be jugged based on the application. As an example high output power
Amplifier is used in the transmitter side of a transceiver, whereas high linear amplifier
used in the receiver side. In our case we use a most efficient power amplifiers that is A
CLASS ‘B’ COMMPLEMENTARY SYMETRIC CIRCUIT.

We have divided the design process in to three parts.

1. Power amplifiers circuit

2. Power source circuit

3. Small signal analysis ciruit

1. A POWER AMPLIFIERS CIRCUIT

It is a heart of the amplification,i.e this circuit is a place where the main amplification
will takes place. We use here Transistor, Resistor, Capacitor, and the load resistor
Speaker.

2. A POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT

It is the main power supply of the amplifier circuit. i.e we use it to give a source to our
amplifier circit as Vcc . It done it by using a 220Vrms to our desigred voltage.

We use hear Rectfication,Filttering, and Voltage and Current Regulation by using

Transformer,Resistor,capacitor, diodes.

3.SMALL SIGNAL ANALYSIS

Small signal analysis is a circuit part that analysis more about the amplification
process. In our case we input a pico range voltage that can be magnified to the volt
range.

We use the transistor rattings to analysis the circuit, and Resistors, capacitors,
and the power Transistor.

 The Power rating of the transistor ≥ 25W

 The current rating of the transistor ≥ 4A

 The Power source needed [ Vcc ] = 12.65V

FROM THIS WE CAN SELLECT THE TRANSISTOR MODEL FROM THE DATA SHEET

VB =[ R2/R1 + R2 ]* Vcc

VB = VBE = 4V

R1 = [ Vcc – VB ]/ IB

R2 = R1 [VB /Vcc – VB]

= 8.65Ὠ [4V/ (12.65V – 4V) ]

Like wize; Since the Circuit is Symetric the resistance values are the same.

TEMPRATURE:

RØJC = [ TJ max – TA max ]/Po max

2.9 oC/W = [ 200 - TA max ]/ 25W ;

TA max =127.5 oC

RØJC = [ TJ min – TA min ]/Po max

2.9 oC/W = [ -65 - TA min]/ 25W ;

TA min = -137.5
