MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: Zechariah 10-12; Revelation 20
Monday, December 29
1 Cor. 9:22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made
all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
Dear Lord and Heavenly Father:
My desire is not to instruct a soul. My purpose is not to improve them. My
goal is to save them! Anything short of that disappoints me. They need to be
renewed in heart, made a new creature in Christ, and forgiven of their sins. Do
not let me aim for anything below that level in my relationship with __________.
What is the point if men and women enter eternity liking me personally, but
yet are unsaved? My hands will be red with their blood if I seek a lesser goal than
their souls salvation through Jesus Christ. Help me not forget today that people
need to be saved.
Paul knew we were ruined. He did not try to educate the lost, but save them
by any means necessary. He saw the unbelievers surrounding him as going to hell
in a handbasket. Today there are more, and they go to hell in a Hummer. He
didnt talk about reforming them, but about saving them from the wrath to come.
God give me insight in my eyesight, because then my prayer will be
insistent, and my witness will be incessant! Make salvation of souls my consuming
passion to the glory of your grace. Make me a servant to all people, toiling for
them, even feeling a woe within me if I do not get to preach the gospel to them.
I will lay aside my preferences to prevent prejudice. I will submit myself in
things unimportantif only they will accept the gospel of free grace. If I can save
some I will be rewarded. That is the crown for which I strive this week.
Let me live so as to win souls. Let me witness through my influence. Since
Jesus died for sinners, let me live to save them. Give me more tenderness.
Saturate me completely with an undying zeal for lost souls for Jesus sake. Amen.
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: Genesis 1-3; Matthew 1
Thursday, January 1
Zech. 4:6 Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

MY Father is rich in houses and lands,

He holdeth the wealth of the world in His hands!
Of rubies and diamonds, of silver and gold,
His coffers are full, He has riches untold.
My Fathers own Son, the Savior of men,
Once wandered on earth as the poorest of them;
But now He is pleading our pardon on high,
That we may be His, when He comes by and by.
I once was an outcast stranger on earth,
A sinner by choice, an alien by birth,
But Ive been adopted, my names written down,
An heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown.
A tent or a cottage, why should I care?
Theyre building a palace for me over there;
Though exiled from home, yet still may I sing:
All glory to God, Im a child of the King.
Im a child of the King, a child of the King:
With Jesus my Savior, Im a child of the King.

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS MIRACLES

Chronological Bible Reading: Zechariah 13-14,Malachi 1; Revelation 21
Tuesday, December 30
John 2:6-7 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the
purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the
waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

James 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning,
and your joy to heaviness.

Almighty Lord and God:

Nothing is allowed to fail if you are present. You will not let it be said there
were not enough resources, or anything ran out, while you were in the house.
Your connection to any event in my life can look remote, but there is a
connection, and even slight and distant connections are recognized by you!
Oh Lord, if I can but touch the hem of your garment, virtue will come out
from you and flow to me. If I get into the same boat with you and I drown, then
you will drown with me. Therefore I know I am safe.
In that mysterious union with you is my life, my security and my success.
Nothing you touch, or that touches you, will ever fail. And since you are with me
today, things have to go well. I am alive by your life.
You can use the most insignificant raw material. To make wine, all you had
was water and six pots. And what am I, but an earthen vessel (a little cracked I
fear), and seventy percent water. Not even pure. There is little enough in me, and
what is present is weak. But you can yet call forth faith to please God and save
others. I am nothing but dust, but that is what shows the might of your power!
You did not ask for angels to appear. You did not deliver a long prayer
(much less repeat some ancient incantation). You willed wine, and it was done.
Teach me today to stand still and see your salvation. I need never succumb
to a panic attack as long as I believe on you. But I have to believe in such a way I
submerge myself in trust. I have to leave everything to you. Teach me that today
in Jesus name, for I love him. Amen.

Watchful Master and King:

I shall end this year with confession. I sin. Let me never stop grieving over
my sin. Let me not be content with myself, and let me never live in the fantasy I
have reached the finish line. I need to seek to be more than a conqueror yet!
Your word gives a charge against unruly members. James rebukes envy and
other evil attitudes within me. I feel humbled under your hand and my prayer is,
Lord, kill my covetousness. Lord, help me command and control my tongue.
Lord, grant me grace to be holy. Lord, make me kind and gentle toward others,
having the wisdom of the Spirit that comes right after purity: peace (James 3:17).
Oh that I might live for you and not for myself. Slay self, Lord! Whenever
there is a selfish, angry disposition around me, stomp it outjust like we stampout sparks to stop a fire from spreading.
Oh dear God, to be like Christ! I do desire to live on earth the life of
Jesus-sent into the world by him as he was sent into the world by you. I want
to copy all his acts, words and attitudes. When I am saved from the power of sin
and transformed into his likeness, then I am really saved. My drunk, addicted, and
wasted friends think they need to get saved from Hell. What they really need is to
be saved from the bondage of sin and consecrated to Christ, so they can live to
the glory of God, for that is his eternal purpose for them.
I fear selfishness even enters my worship. I mar and spoil my prayers. My
unwashed hands contaminate my teaching. Believing in Christ I am made clean,
and I do not doubt his bloods effectiveness. So let me walk boldly in the power
of your Spirit today, confident in the faith that is in Jesus. Amen.

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY

Chronological Bible Reading: Genesis 4-6; Matthew 2

SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS

Chronological Bible Reading: Genesis 7-9; Matthew 3
Saturday, January 3

Eph. 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we
ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

cry.

Psa. 40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my

Savior for Sinners Slain:

You give us exceeding abundantly above. There was a day when we would have
believed our current condition far too high for us to ever get to, so how can we
doubt your blessing on us in the future? In looking back at our breakout year
we are surprised, and we should exceedingly abundantly praise you. Those who sat
among the fleshpots of Egypt (Exod. 16:3), now sit under his own vine and fig tree (Zech.
3:10). Those who used to be wandering in the wilderness, lonely, now find a
family to fit into, and a city to call home. We who were prodigals in rags are now
children in the Fathers house, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ Jesus!
Psa. 72:19 And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled
with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
Your gifts are almost too much to bearsuch blessing on us. What
encouragement we have in praying to a prayer-hearing God, who far exceeds the
vision of his children! It is not only for answered prayer, but also for some
unanswered prayers we should praise and bless you.
Now Lord, listen to our cry for this New Year. Wherever there is a sincere
heart seeking greater holiness, answer that request. Wherever there is a broken
spirit asking for reconciliation, be pleased to answer them now. You know the
places prayer is going up to you, even though the lips move not, and it be
unuttered. Wherever there is a publican lifting his eyes to heaven, hear him while
he cries, God be merciful to me, a sinner. Let the sighing of the prisoner come before
you. Grant peace and rest to every troubled soul. Make us valiant for truth as we
seek to serve you this weekend; in Jesus name and for his sake we ask it. Amen.

Gracious and Mighty God:

Patient waiting on you was a special characteristic of the Lord Jesus.
Impatience never lived in his heart or escaped his lips. All through his agony in
Gethsemane, beatings at Gabbatha, and his passion on Golgatha, he waited on
you in the omnipotence of patience. No glare of anger. No word of complaint.
No act of vengeance came from Gods Lamb. He was patient to perfection.
The Bible character Job, meek in his in dust and ashes, does not equal Jesus
on the cross. Christ wears the crown when it comes to patience. Hes the man!
That means it is impossible for me to wait on you in vain. Jesus received your
help through the same process of faith and prayer that I have to use. He teaches
me how to conduct my conflicts so I can succeed in the same way, and triumph
in his strength over all affliction and persecution and trial.
Psa. 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
Faith is what wins the promises. Give me a simple, single-eyed confidence
in you. I could be as poor as Lazarus, as hated as Mordecai, as sick as Hezekiah,
or as lonely as Elijah, but as long as my hand of faith holds you, none of my
outward problems, predicaments, or problematic people can prevent my being
numbered with the blessed. Yet the wealthiest who have no faith are cursed.
Here is the essence of obedience: my souls cheerful adoration of you!
Jesus obedience is my righteousness. Help me be obedient in him today. Then, in
spite of measureless grief, I will joy in the Lord and rejoice in all your works, even
in the rough providences of my life. Make me like Jesus in this, so everyone
who sees me in 2015 will know I am his disciple! Amen.

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions

asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

TODAY
Welcome to all our visitors! Please take a connection card and a white visitors
card from the back of the pew in front of you. Fill it out and put it in the

INSTRUCTIONS:

WEDNESDAY NO SERVICE
Gym floor replacement means no Sunday morning adult classes, no Sunday
evening service, no Wednesday night service, and no Monday prayer meeting
through January 12, 2015. Thank you for your patience!

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.

Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
