EDX Releases In-Building RF Planning Tool

EDX Wireless releases Signal-IQ 2.4, a comprehensive and integrated

Planning and Design suite for In-Building DAS and AP deployments
Eugene, OR, October 1, 2012 EDX Wireless, a developer of innovative wireless
network planning tools, announces the release of version 2.4 of EDX Signal-IQ, a
comprehensive software system for the design of in-building wireless networks, including
Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), picocell, femtocell and 802.11 Access Point (AP)
deployments.
Extending the EDX SignalPro family of RF planning solutions to solve the unique
engineering challenges of indoor RF and DAS design and prediction, Signal-IQ is a fully
integrated standalone indoor RF design tool. With powerful and easy to use features to quickly
turn floor plans into wall files, a flexible DAS RF design capability and propagation modeling,
Signal-IQ delivers rapid and accurate designs for indoor wireless networks
Signal-IQ streamlines and simplifies the end to end design of in-building RF networks for
varying technologies, including not only cellular system DAS design, but also VHF & UHF band
designs for public safety and other Mission Critical applications. With the RF DAS and/or AP
design placed on the floor plan, Signal-IQ allows the user to simulate and display the coverage
of the indoor network via a wide range of available RF study options including real-time
coverage prediction features. Also included is an extensive and easily customizable RF
component database to accommodate each users preferred equipment lists.
Additionally, Signal-IQ 2.4 contains many advances in workflow and usability. Helpful
features have been added to streamline complex processes which are easily accessible with a
quick context sensitive menu. Recently added features in Signal-IQ 2.4 include visualization
enhancements (3D view and an expanded schematic diagram), measurement data vs.

prediction statistics, building georeferencing using Google Earth polygon files, inter-floor
propagation, and support for multi-carrier, multi-technology DAS (including UMTS and LTE
studies).
