The Philippines 2114 Strong and Independent or Weak and subjugated?

Philippines and China, a deciding factor.

No one can really predict the future, there are so many variables that can change overtime that
death is the only certain thing in the world. By current estimates, by 2050 the Philippines will be the #1
economy in southeast asia, #5 on Asia and #14 in the world. That is just by 2050, more so in another 50
years. So the deciding factor? China's rise and the West Philippine Sea. With the current situation here
in the Philippines, either the Chinese declare war on us and the Americans help us, the Chinese declare
war on us and the Americans do not help us, or a perpetual state of cold war between the Chinese and
the Filipinos. Another factor is if we develop and sustain an alternative for oil.
The three scenarios
If the Chinese do decide to attack the Philippines to teach her a lesson for the WPS(West
Philippine Sea) Issue, the time they decide to do so would greatly affect the response the Philippines is
capable of. At the current time (2014) If the Chinese decide to attack us, it would be a one sided affair.
The Chinese could hit us hard without us capable of hitting back. We could only rely on the Mutual
Defense Treaty on the Americans to save ourselves. However a confrontation in 2020 might be
different, as the Philippines, realizing this threat have began to steadily increase her AFP. So this boils
down to Three Scenarios, 1st If the Chinese attacks and the Americans help us, Again this would be
affected by the time period, if this happened now although the Filipinos would be defeated the
Americans would definitely beat the Chinese, and this would serve to ensure the Filipino National
Integrity until the 22nd century. The 2nd Scenario however what if the Americans don't help us? Then the
Chinese would beat the hell out of our AFP, thus ensuring the West Philippine Sea be theirs, A blow to
our national integrity. This might be a prelude to the eventual take over of the entire Philippine nation.
This is a worst case scenario, where we might again be subjugated and weak, where the Filipino youth
might once again pay the ultimate sacrifice: Freedom. The third scenario is that we engage is a
perpetual cold war. A state living in fear. Why you might ask the Chinese is important to the Philippines
in the 22nd century? Because the Chinese is rising superpower. By 2030 China would have outgrown
the US Economy. What more in 2114. China is our neighbor, and history shows when a Country
becomes powerful, she clashes with her neighbors (Rome, Persia, Germany, any major empire). Only
time will tell if we Filipinos can survive the Chinese growth. However the best scenario is the Chinese
renounce all claims in the West Philippine sea, although highly unlikely, If this happens the Chinese
and the Filipinos will be friends again, and in the 22nd century might grow a bond tighter than what the
US and the Philippines has now.

Philippine Culture by the 22nd Century.

The Philippines is a place seen with a combination of east and west. Asian influence blending
with western Ideas to create a Filipino feel. However Filipino culture itself is from what I see is dying.
Filipino Culture is being invaded and taken over by Western Literature, Korean Music, Japanese Anime
and Chinese goods. Ask any young person today, OPM or K-pop/English music and more often than
not they will choose the latter. One part of the Filipino culture I am quite sure that won't die of is our
food culture, any Filipino (except maybe the socialites) would choose Inay's Adobo over lobster and
caviar any day. And I believe that we export our food culture, the humble businesses of Philippine
restaurants in the states remind us that even if Filipinos listen to KPOP or taylor swift, watches anime
all day, at every meal, every Filipinos wishes for rice and ulam.

The Filipino Spirit

One thing I personally believe that will never be vanquished or lost to time is our resilience and
fortitude, also known as the Filipino Spirit. Whether we survive and true to predictions become a top
country and regional power by the 22nd century, or succumb to foreign invaders, we will never lose our
hope and guide as Filipinos. All else might be lost, our freedom, our history. But the Filipino Spirit will
live on. In time, the Filipinos might forget the importance of Rizal, Bonifacio and our other heroes.
Though I hope that the fire that burned with passion of love for country never be extinguished in the
hearts of every Filipino.

Philippines 2114
The Philippines might be a Nation, the Philippines might not be a Nation. The Philippines may
stand tall and proud, or the Philippines fall and be a footnote in history. Only time will tell, The
Philippines as a Nation might cease to exist, but the Filipino will never die. The Filipino, the Rizal, the
Bonifacio, and everyone of our great heroes will never be forgotten, our country might not exist in any
tangible form but the Idea that we did will never cease. In the hope that our country be rich and
respected in the 22nd century, let it be one day say that thanks to the sacrifices our forefathers did we
can enjoy this life. God bless the Philippines and her children and for her future.
