My 2014 experience with the

asset has been somewhat
challenging especially at the
beginning of the year while
we were drilling in Kenya
waters. With time i have
gained confidence and
become more comfortable
with the drilling cost engineer
position which was initially
somewhat challenging given
my limited knowledge of the
industry. Having come to the
end of the 1st drilling phase
for BG Tanzania and Kenya,
and having been a drilling
cost engineer for 13 of the 17
wells drilled since 2011 up
untill 2014, i can confidently
say that i have learnt alot,
been challenged by the role

Caroline has continued to

progress very well in the
Drilling Cost Engineer role.
She has developed a good
working relationship with other
functions so that gaps can be
reported in an open, honest
and constructive manner. She
has also expanded the
tracking in 2014 to include all
aspects of spend in Mtwara.
At the same time as delivering
on her day to day activities
Caroline musn't lose sight of
other committments she
makes, for this year examples
of which were attending HSE
audits and visiting the
operational sights. This will all
go towards broadening
Caroline's experience.

and have come out better

equipped with more
extensive experience for the
next drilling phase.

In addition to the Cost

Engineer role, this year
Caroline has taken on
additional duties in support of
the Asset ALT. She has
performed very well during
external interactions and
listens well, however seems
distracted at times. There is
further opportunity to grow into
the role, provide feedback in
meetings, express herself and
focus on a further level of
detail.

Cost tracking
Description

Ensure cost tracker for new projects are created on time and stay
current and are properly updated as well as reflective of the AFE.
Continue a timely issuance of the daily cost tracker
Continue a timely issuance of the weekly report submitted every

Thursday of the week.

Issue a monthly cost report for Construction, MUFA & Mtwara nonMUFA budgets.
Success Criteria

Cost trackers for 2014 wells have been issued in a timely

manner as well as cost reports issued to Partners. MUFA
has been a complex undertaking but we now have been
able to produce a final report for CAPEX, OPEX
&MTWARA BG JV reflective of where we stand against
the 2014 approved budget. We have also come up with
actions on how to handle future MUFA charges as far as
allocations are concerned. I am more confident today
than i was in January on budget vs spend as far as MUFA
&Mtwara BG JV is concerned.

was not able to make as many rig visits as i would have

Organisation and employee development

Description

Hold ADR discussion with the line manager to plan for 2014 staff
development
Have a better understanding of offshore operations by making more
visits to the rig when a specific type of operation is being carried.
Ensure invoices are paid on time by bridging gaps between ACV-PRPO creation process by creating a KPI on how long the process takes
and how long an invoice takes to be paid once it has been submitted
to AP for payment processing.

Success Criteria

With the help of the demand managers we were able to

issue ACVs for 2014 Tanzania drilling campaign in a
timely manner and have POs extended ASAP before
invoices started rolling in. As a result of this. PO
extension delays have been greatly reduced.
I had my ADR with Mark early this year as planned. I
have a better understanding of offshore operations
through my interaction with the Ops team, as well as
through my indirect involvemnet in AFE creation as well
as day to day interaction with people from the Rig.
Participating in the DWOP also proved to be very useful
in contributing to my knowledge anderstanding of day to
day offshore operations.

P2P KPI
Description

Continue to ensure all invoices are processed in a timely manner.

Maintain WENG 10 -day approval KPI

Success Criteria

I have been able to maintain consistent KPI reporting &

presented to the ALT teamduring bi monthly reviews. Our
performance has fluctuated this year due to changes in
operations (Kenya Ops) where we received the highest
volume of invoices since Jan 2013. Overall we have been
able to maintain a clear, un-biased and
open communication path with other members of the
team and asset in general on challenges faced duirng
approval processes within Well Engineering

Business Goals

Description

Continue with the issuance of a P2P report, create a more

comprehensive report to better understand and differentiate internal
vs. external delays and work out ways to eradicate some of the
delays.

Success Criteria

We have been consistent in issuing the P2P Report,

additional to we have been able to make a distinction
between delays caused by our internal processes vs
delays caused by vendors. From our experience
especially with Kenya operations, lesson learnt has been
to have a de-brief session during a DWOP on what is
required from our vendors to avoid delays invoice
payments or rejections in the future.
