1.Am I allowed to screen the absentees at their houses?
Strictly NO for security reason.
2.Can I accept if my pupils mispronounce (high frequency words) more than a word in a sentence?
Yes.
3.Can I conduct intervention class for my pupils?
Yes, you are encouraged to conduct intervention class with the permission from the parents and
school authority in written form. Make sure you use the correct term. You are not allowed to use
terms such as "Extra Class' or "Tuition Class" for this purpose.
4.Can I use teaching aids to facilitate the screening process?
Yes. You are encouraged to do so. Please use suitable teaching aids.
5.Do I need to follow strictly to the manual?
Not necessarily, Teacher can simplify the questions to facilitate the pupils to answer the questions.
However, the manual should be used and referred to as closely as possible. Though this is not a test,
we still need to ensure that the data received is valid.
6.Do I need to proceed to the following construct if the pupils are unable to fulfill any of the Construct?
Yes, because you are screening them not testing them. The pupils should be given 3 trials to fulfill the
screening but not on the same day.

8.Do I need to separate the files for LINUS English?
Absolutely not. All the activities must be planned together with LINUS Numeracy and LINUS Literacy.
That is why the programme is known as LINUS2.0.
9.For Construct 1 my pupils are able to recognise only 2 out of 4 letters given. Can I use other letters to
screen my pupils?
Yes.
10.How do I measure my pupils' ability in reading?

As long as the pupils are able to read the words and understood by the teacher. Their reading ability is
not measured by their fluency, accuracy, intonation, and enunciation.
11.How many times do I need to screen my pupils?
Maximum 3 times
12.How should I write my lesson plan for LINUS? Should I write separately or in one Lesson Plan?
It should be written in one lesson plan with different objectives and different activities.
13.If my pupils have already passed the 1st screening, do they need to sit for the 2nd screening?
Yes, because they will be given different set of questions.
14.Is it compulsory for me to use the Teacher's and Pupils' Module?
Not compulsory but you are encouraged to use them. The teachers should adopt and adapt the
Modules provided according to their pupils' abilities.
15.What are the other methods that I can use to screen my pupils fo Construct 1 and Construct 2 if they
are unable to recognise and sound the letters?
Teacher can use alphabet cards and say aloud the letters or sound them and ask the pupils to pick the
correct card.
16.What should I do if my pupils are absent during the screening test?
Please inform your Student's Affair Senior Assistant Teacher for further action.
17.When can I use the LINUS module?
After the 1st screening.
18.When is the suitable time for me to screen my pupils?
During the English Hour or any suitable time.
19.Where can I get the BUDGET from to carry out the LINUS2.0 activities?
From the Bimbingan dan Kaunseling PCG.
20.Who should I consult if my pupils are having learning disabilities?
Please inform your Student's Affairs Senor Assistant Teacher (HEM). Please contact PPD offices incharge for further clarification.

21.Why is the vocabulary too difficult and unfamiliar to my pupils?


There are 3 sources for teachers to refer to: textbook, activity book and BPK modules.
