The Political Power

Power is the ability to act effectively. People use power in

many different ways. Some of these ways are strength within the
people, power in ruling a country, using their power in positive and
negative ways. "Force is that which turns a person into a thing
either a corpse or slave."(Simone Weil). It means that force turns a
person into a thing into a body or slave.
There are good and bad leaders in the world. Some of them
are fair but some are not. A good leader leads people in doing good
things and a bad leader leads them to doing bad things. He who
controls others may be powerful, but he who has mastered himself
is mightier still (Lao Tzu).a man that controls others may have
strength, but the way he masters himself is still huge. An important
part of leadership is to affect the people you manage so that they
do what you want them to do. The effect of a leader will depend on
a variety of factors including their personality and of those around
them. Also, the effect of a leader over his followers is sometimes
referred to as power. As Eugene Debs notes, "They have always
trained you to believe it will be your duty to go to war but in the
history of the world, people never had a voice declaring war". "The
function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more
followers,"(Ralph Nader). The main purpose of leadership is to have
more successful leaders and not more followers. "States are not
agents of morality and peace. They are instruments of force,
disruption, disorder, death, dismemberment, and war instigated by
those who rule them and command others. Peace is not brought by
bombardment, shock and awe, and machine guns."(M.S. Rozeff).
However, people sometimes use power in good ways.
People that think positive always use power in good ways. If
you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think
a negative thought. (Peace pilgrim). If only people think about how

powerful their thoughts can be, they would never think about a
negative thought or even use their thoughts to use power in
negative ways. For example, anger is a power that could be used
positively or negatively. It is not easy to change anger to become a
positive thing because not many people can station the power to
useful things." I am not interested in power for power's sake, but I'm
interested in power that is moral, that is right and that is
good."(Martin Luther King, Jr). Even though power is used in positive
ways, it is also used in negative ways.
Thinking negatively could lead people to use their power in
negative ways. If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you
would never think a negative thought. (Peace pilgrim). People often
do things without thinking of consequences, if they only realize how
powerful their thoughts are, they would never think a negative
thought. "Be vigilant; guard your mind against negative thoughts,"
said Buddha. A way to avoid negative thoughts is to be alert and
guarding your mind against them. There is little difference in
people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little
difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or
negative,(W. Clement Stone). There are two differences, one is a
little one and the other is a big difference. The little difference is
attitude while the big difference where your attitude it negative or
positive. Other than using power negatively, there is strength within
the people.
Strength within the people has a positive effect but sometimes
a negative one. In a new study, experts were able to conclude that
people who accede to power be likely to to change, and start
playing a part that has been placed out by others before them. They
suddenly begin to smile less, speak louder than usual, and disturb
others all the time. There seems to be a connection in the minds of
people who have power that being in a definite position means that
rules can be broken. Also, it was found that people who tend not to

respect social norms are likely to be considered powerful. Gandhi

wrote, "The individual has a soul, but as the State is a soulless
machine, it can never be weaned from the violence to which it owes
its very existence." Others have noted, "War is the health of the
State." Some people think that war is the health of a country.
So these were some ways people use power in. "Force is that

slave."(Simone Weil). If people think positively and use their power
in good ways then the world will be okay, but if they think
negatively and use their power in bad ways, then the world will be a
disaster.
