INTRODUCTION
Award-winning PsyAsia International facilitates professional training

360 DEGREE APPRAISAL WORKSHOP


Modern multi-nationals and government organizations use 360 degree
Performance Appraisal as an effective and objective tool in managing
performance and development. To ensure the purpose of the system is
effectively communicated and to reduce the chances of subjective
evaluations, we recommend our psychologist-delivered interactive, oneday 360 Degree Appraisal Workshop.

ASSESSMENT & DEVELOPMENT CENTRE WORKSHOP


Assessment Centres have proven to be excellent tools in terms of
predicting the performance of potential employees. Development Centres
have also proven their worth in terms of highlighting the development
needs of high potentials. In order to work effectively, assessors, observers
and administrators require top notch training from a competent
individual. PsyAsia International has years of experience in designing and
running Assessment and Development Centres and applies this in our
very practical and engaging 3-day workshop which culminates in the
running of a live Assessment Centre on the final day.

BEHAVIOR-BASED INTERVIEWING WORKSHOP


The interview is a common tool for employee selection. However, many
interviewers have never been trained and it has long been recognized
that there is little intra- and inter-rater reliability (consistency) where
traditional non-structured interviews are utilized. This one-day workshop
provides busy recruitment agency staff, selection panels and line
management with tools for increasing the objectivity and standardization
of interviews. We focus on the Behavior Based Interview (also known as
Competency-based Interviewing) because evidence shows this to be the
most valid type of interview in predicting subsequent work performance.
However, we also discuss Situational Interviewing. When run as an inhouse course, we advise increasing the course length to two days in order
to devote time to filming interview sessions and offering feedback and
development in the safe learning environment.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT COURSE


Our super-practical HRM course takes delegates through the entire HR
Cycle over 4 days. We cover topics such as Job Analysis, Recruitment and
Selection, Motivation, Performance Appraisal, Training and Development
and Psychometric Testing. Employing a case study method, topics are
taught with full interaction of delegates and this culminates in a major
case study on the final day which showcases learning from the entire
course.

MANAGING CONFLICT AT WORK COURSE


Workplaces are full of conflict. Conflict occurs between team members,
between

those

of

different

teams

and

departments,

between

management and lower level staff and between the front-line and the
external environment - the client/customer. This one-day event tackles
conflict and provides attendees with a toolbox of skills for reducing,
managing and negotiating through conflict.

We can come to your
Business location or an
alternative venue arranged
by you. Alternatively, if you
wish the training to go ahead
in Singapore or Hong Kong,
we can arrange for your
delegates to come to our
partner venues in these
locations (at cost).
In-house courses are usually
more economical than public
courses if you have more
than 4 delegates because
you pay one fee regardless
of the number of delegates
and, because we come to
you, you save travel and
possible hotel costs.
In-house courses are also
good if you prefer not to
share how your organization
works with people outside of
that organization. Another
major benefit of the in-house
course is that you can choose
the date! Just give us plenty
of notice (preferably 8
weeks and above) because
we are good at what we do
and so our diaries tend to fill
at least 2 months in advance
of any event!

ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION COURSE


This one-day course aims to provide delegates with a greater
understanding of the importance of effective communication for both
internal

and

external

organizational

success.

More

effective

communication results in increased productivity and team commitment as


well as enhanced customer service. A number of fun practical exercises
and role plays provide delegates with tools to communicate more
effectively at work.

PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL COURSE


This two-day or three-day course is aimed at managers, supervisors and
those who are responsible for and conduct performance appraisals.
Delegates learn how to devise the competency framework for the
appraisal based on a job analysis, how to design appraisal forms and
questions, and how to avoid appraisals which are ultimately meaningless
due to endorsement of middle responses. Effective appraisal interviewing
and feedback to appraisees is also covered. We recommend the two-day
course for organizations where there is already a good competency
framework that managers understand well, and the three-day course for
organizations who wish to develop their competency framework or instill
managers with greater understanding of their current framework.

PSYCHOMETRIC TEST ADMINISTRATION COURSE


BPS LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATION
PsyAsia's one-day Psychometric Test Administration Course provides
delegates with the ability to understand and competently practice the
administration of ability and personality assessments in organizational
settings. Successful completion of the course leads to certification with
the British Psychological Society RQTU Level 1. Advanced training (see
next course) is required for those who wish to go beyond administration
and actually interpret, feedback and make decisions on the basis of test
results.

Public Courses
Explained

Public courses are open to


anybody and so are
typically made up of diverse
groups of delegates. This is
great for networking and
learning more about
different organizations.
The venue is provided by us
and often, a lunch buffet is
included. It is best to opt for
a public course if you have
just one or a small number of
delegates and prefer us to
arrange everything for you.
The biggest downside of
public courses is that we
schedule the date, and hence
your delegates need to be
available on that date.

BPS LEVEL 2 ABILTY TEST USER CERTIFICATION


Our BPS Level 2 training has 2 sub-levels.
The first is Level 2 Ability Test User. This covers essential topics in
psychometric assessment at work and aims to provide delegates with
competence to interpret, provide feedback, and make decisions on the
basis of ability test results.

BPS LEVEL 2 PERSONALITY TEST USER CERTIFICATION


EURO TEST USER
The second sub-level of our BPS Level 2 training is Level 2 Personality
Test User and this builds upon the previous sub-level to enable delegates
to apply the previous sub-levels aims to the use of personality
assessments in the workplace. With many psychometric tests on the
market and so many of them lacking in terms of reliability and validity,
now it is even more important than ever to fully understand how these
tests are designed and how to choose the best test for your situation, let
alone how to use and apply that test competently. Those who successfully
complete the course will be able to register with the British Psychological
Society for the BPS RQTU Level 2 Ability & Personality Test User
Certification and also apply for the EFPA Euro Test User Certification.

TEAM-BUILDING WORKSHOP
This is a one-day in-house workshop Prior to the session, each team
member completes an online personality assessment and, if possible, a
360-appraisal. During the day, frank discussions and exploration of job
competencies and each other (in terms of what they do, their
contribution, their personality) result in a better understanding of how the
team works as well as an action-plan for enhanced performance and
understanding. Kindly note that research shows that away-days with
adventure-type games may be fun, but do not achieve lasting success in
terms of team-building it is for this reason that PsyAsia International
does not offer such activities. Our focus is on the interaction between
individuals and their perceptions and understanding of themselves and
their team-mates this leads to longer lasting gains.

TIME AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT COURSE


Delegates become equipped with the skills and confidence to get more
out of their day by learning about the effective use of time at work. Prior
to the course we ask delegates to complete a time log and a personality
assessment. These are used during the course to discover where time
goes and to make the course more personal to each delegate by
exploring their strengths and development needs in terms of time
management. By the end of the course, delegates will have a plan of
action about things that need to change to enable them to be more
productive and less stressed and they will have appointed a co-delegate
as a coach to assist them through the developmental process.
