Personalized training & innovation workshop at Bengaluru discussed funtoots potential in personalized learning space
Bengaluru, January 24, 2015: The degrading learning levels of students in Indian primary and elementary education is by far one
of our greatest teaching failures. Reason being the homogeneous teaching method conducted in a single-track mode overlooking
the wide variations in learning level among students in classroom teachings. This discourages the enjoyment of learning thereby
resulting in shocking dropouts in rural schools and lesser grades and depression victims among urban ones. Despite Children
having 100% access to primary education, a study by non-governmental organisation Chief Rights and You (CRY) found that the
dropout rate among them was as high as 40%.
10th Annual Status of Education Report (ASER 2014) reported that only 50% class 5 students can read class 2 text topping
it was poor mathematical ability which was a serious concern. In rural India, while in 2012, 26.3% of class 3 students could
do a two digit subtraction, the figure has come down slightly to 25.3% in 2014. This pressing issue was the underlying theme
of funtoots Personalized Training & Innovation workshop and panel discussion held today at Le Meridian Bengaluru participated
