2 Microchip Feasibility Study

INTRODUCTION
This microchip falls under the category for medical use, since this microchip is aimed to read
and analyze ones blood pressure and blood sugar levels. This microchip is expected to grab the
interest of the patients under crucial observations and for people who would like to keep track of
their health. The strategy is to sell these products into two variants, one for long term use and the
other would be for the short term use due to the reasons that not every patient have the ability to
purchase such product.
These microchip aims to be the first microchip product to be sold at both high price for the long
term microchip and low price for the short term microchip.
This also seeks to give aid to experiments in laboratories and health assurance for hospital
services.
PRODUCT AND SERVICES
This microchip will be offering two variants, the long term microchip and the short term
microchip. The long term microchip would most likely have a higher price than of the short term
since it would need materials which are non-toxic and easily soluble in water since the human
body is generally composed of water. As for the short term microchip, this form of microchip
would be a microchip that would stop working after some time and be dissolved inside the
human body without causing problem to the gut and the bloodstream.
The Microchip products also produce its own energy coming from the heat of the body of the
customer deeming that the product would work without concerning the chargeability of the
microchip. Both form of microchip would have a device which receives the current information

being analyzed by the microchip I order to track the blood pressure and blood sugar level. This
device is re-usable for both form of microchip by simply registering the microchip to the device
through signals and confirmation from the user. In addition both microchips is traceable through
the use of the program to be given to the hospitals that has different warning levels and signals
once one microchip reads a threatening levels in blood pressure and blood sugar and be able to
trace the person in such crucial situation.
TECHNOLOGY
Technology is rapidly evolving nowadays and paving the ways from the once viewed as
impossible to be possible, making this form of product to have a good opportunity.
Through the features of the microchip having its re-usable device and an hospital informing
feature it saves more lives and be advertised by itself through this life saving situations. This
feature of the microchip is its key point other than it is injectable into the human body since
nowadays more and more people are being conscious of their health. With this new technology
integrated into the microchip more lives would be prolonged and more studies would be made
possible.
MARKET ENVIRONMENT
Location: Hospitals
Our business would deem be more successful if the products would be sold from hospitals
together with the prescription or suggestion of the doctors.

4 Microchip Feasibility Study

Target customers: Patients with blood pressure or sugar level problems, health conscious persons
and patients who recovered from illness which included problems to blood pressure or blood
sugar level.
This form of business is open for all who want take care of their health, but since the business is
mainly being purchased from hospitals then most likely the customers would be both old and
new patients.
Benefits of our business: traceability and health tracker
There are a lot of these forms of trackers nowadays but they are mostly used to track computer
users and to track cellphones. This is where its traceability comes into play since none of the
present trackers tackles health issues. Together with its traceability is its health tracker wherein
the user gets to see his/her current situation.
Target customers a day: 10-50 customers
We have this target number of customers since this business should be sold in not only one
hospital in order to reach out to both patients and customers. Plus the product is not easy to mass
produce and it would need to be tested and inspected properly.
Schedule: Monday-Sunday, 7AM-9PM
This time frame would be good time frame for the business since the business works hand in
hand with hospitals in giving service to the customers and patients. Plus this time frame is a time
where most prescriptions and advices would be given by doctors to patients.

5 Microchip Feasibility Study

COMPETITION
The competition in selling this product is the competition among the health services currently
present in the society. But this competition is not bad since a competition is a way of improving
one product after the other. In every hospital there their services that they offer to their patients,
but these services vanishes after it is felt, or simply it is mostly for one time use. The patients
cannot determine if things are going again for the bad after they leave the hospital, since the
service given by the hospital would most likely be limited to its premises. Although these are
actually indirect competitors since there is still no microchip product concerning health issues in
the market. For this product to dominate the market and become a known monopolized product
the business would be catering delivery, shipping and most probably franchise. These things
would be best being done through the use of the resources in the web. These form of techniques
would cause an increase in customers and be further recognized in the market.
INDUSTRY
Industry is defined as the group of companies that are related in terms of their primary business
activities, although there is currently no known industry that is pursuing the production of
microchips. Because of that there are currently no threats from other industries concerning the
same business, plus it gives the opportunity to be able to monopolize this form of industry.
Nowadays a lot of people die from the streets or from their homes due to ailments and more
often than not, blood pressure and blood sugar is related to these cases. And so we thought of this
traceability system for the microchip as one of the key point feature in introducing the product to
the industrial line. Meaning that the user is traceable and is monitored through the computers and
will immediately inform the nearest hospital when the readings on the user gets bad. In the terms
6 Microchip Feasibility Study

of supply and demand the product production would be limited yearly according to its changing
demand since at first the product is a very fresh and unknown to customers making the first wave
of demand to be a bit low, but will increase as time goes.
BUSINESS MODEL
This business will earn its profit by selling the said microchips which would be ranging from
P8,000 to P20,000 for both of the variants, this price to pay comes with one receiving device
wherein the customer would be registering the microchip to be injected in their body. That price
to pay is good enough for health assuring device and quality made product.
MARKETING SALES AND STRATEGY
The strategy to be used for this form of marketing is through the use of partnership with
dominant and well known hospitals making the product be easily the talk of the patients. Once
partnership is acquired through this hospitals the media would probably rushing in for some
interview of some doctors of the hospital for this new service and product conveyed by the
microchip. Since the media would totally like to get information about the very fresh product,
information would be sought and so that is the time where the website wherein information about
the so-called new product can be found. And so that would be a free advertisement from the
media itself. Once it has been used by the customers it would easily be pass through the tongue
from one person and the other.
PRODUCTION/OPERATING REQUIREMENTS

7 Microchip Feasibility Study

The first thing to consider in producing such product is who will produce the product? This form
of product would be needing assistance from a big company, in other words partnership.
Producing such microchips would be needing experts such as engineers and high grade
machinery which can create microscopic wirings. Although the production is not very easy the
materials to be used would be in a not so big scale since the product is a microchip.
MANAGEMENT AND PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS
In creating this business, personnel with the right abilities fitting for the requirements and with
good credibility, because earning trust through these requirements are crucial for employment.

Demographic Factors
Age range
There is no specific age range for the product since it is a microchip but it is not recommended to
children below the age of 8, just to ensure their safety since their veins is still a bit compact that
creates a possible problem that the microchip to get stuck in some part of the veins.
Education level of customers:

10 Microchip Feasibility Study

Most likely our customers would be people who already have their own jobs, but probably not all
of those are College graduates.
Ethnicity:
Nowadays more and more people are having high blood pressure due to cholesterol and high
blood sugar levels due to sweets. But even so some people still would want to continue eating
this form of foods without putting their life on the line.
Behavioral Factors:
The lowest target customers per day is 10-50 customers which is expected to rise eventually
through the use of the staffs courteousness in aiding the customers queries and questions on both
type of microchip (Short term and Long term microchip).

Shopping Behavior:
Customers could avail our microchip product inside and outside the premises of the hospital
although all microchip products ordered for shipping should have at least one legitimate doctor
to assist the customer in injecting the microchip.
Income Projections

11 Microchip Feasibility Study

Our income projection once this business would be introduced in the market would have an
income monthly and a yearly income as the time goes.
CONCLUSION
According to the data that the proponents have gathered, the microchip business could be
concluded as a feasible to operate within the hospitals, if not it should be near the hospitals. With
a target of mostly patients and people who are concerned about their health, the business can
grab the opportunity to give its product and continuing service to the customers due to the arising
need for health assistance. And due to being the first possible industry in the market, monopoly
would be sought and therefore the control over the price is very strong, making the business
flourishes even more due to the reason of monopoly.
In addition with the business first seeking the partnership of the hospitals would give the
business a stronger sense of foundation. Plus with the help of the partnership with hospitals the
hospitals could reach out in helping the staff members of the business or even have their own
staff to help with the monitoring of the customers who have availed the product microchip and
the service from the hospital injecting the microchip into the customers body.

Recommendation and Findings:

The offered prices for the product are reasonable due to the production cost and the great features
that come with the product. Although having partnerships would require a good sense of
presentation and connection throughout the sought areas of probable business. The business
would also be deemed as a monopolized industry in the market due to the use of microchips as
products.
We recommend to the next researchers who would also sought the selling of microchips as
products to have a more in depth research under the category of its production, since its
production covers the issues that might arise through time.
