Dear Friends,

YES* It is GREAT being married!

Sheila and I have just arrived back from

our honeymoon in Florida.

We had a great time at Disney World!

We had a good visit and a

nice rest from traveling.

We were also

able to spend a few days at Marceline, Mo., where we visited (grandma Ozzie
and the rest of the family there. It was fun introducing Sheila to them.

Our wedding went very well, it was special for us, haying our family
there except for Karen in China, who sent a taped song which we played
at the wedding. Everyone at the Church in Casper, at Paradise Valley
was tremendous, true brothers and sisters. All the people and friends
have been more than generous.

In March and April, before the wedding, I spent time doing my travelat four churches
ling in Indiana, Michigan and Tennessee. I spoke
,
^ nin
March in behalf of two of our recruits for this summer, to South Africa.

We were happy to be able to speak for them.

We pray that it has helped

them in missionary plans. Churches really seem to be educated on world

wide needs. May the Lord help these churches to meet these reeds.
(

I was able to travel with dad to a couple of campus house ministeries

in Michigan to interview recruits for Africa and Hungary.
These students
are really on fire for the Lord, to reach the lost.
We had our mission

orientation for those going to other countries over Memorial Day week-end.
The week-end went great, we had 40 there including our staff of 7.
A team
of twelve will be going to Uganda in Mid-June, Lord willing. Our team to
Hungary will be led by my sister Sonja, and they leave late Aug. There
are 10 of them.
All of our Hungary team will be new to that area, please
pray for them, it will be exciting to see what the Lord will do for that
area. Our China and Africa workers are.seeing great response in their
areas already, and they are ready for the new workers and interns.
PRAYER REQUESTS; ,

Jacques and Bev in Uganda.

--

Pat and Lorraine in

South Africa. Karen and Jane in China, and all the other 0 .1
Missionaries in Bangladesh, Fiji Islands and Maine, USA.

It was a pleasure to see everyone at our Outreach meeting in March.

Floyd Clark has moved to N. Carolina and since I was not able to help him
move as

had wanted to.

want to thank the church in Cleveland Tn.

for helping him do that work.

I enjoyed having time et the church there.

Sheila and I have begun apartment hunting here in Lansing. Pray

that we find one we can afford. We have camps and VBS'S for this summer

and e need to raise $500.00 per month

to support us as a family now!

Colossians 1:6^A11 over the world this Gospel is producing fruit and

growing'.'.,Thanks for making it pssible for us to be a part of this

missionary motivation ministry..
We Love you,

.3<ftnathSr and Sheila

1. Wedding plans announced! Praise the Lord!

2. New assignment: Jonathan L. Hamilton - Director of

Recruitment and Internship Ministry for Outreach
International.
Jonathan & Sheila to be married.

I am very happy and excited to announce to you that Sheila Compton and I plan to be married. Lord willing we live, on May
5,1990. The wedding ceremony will be held in Casper, Wyoming. My dad will do the honors. Sheila and I want you to know that
you are invited to attend the wedding ceremony. Sheila and I have known each other for several years and after a lot of
praying, seeking the will of the Lord we feel God's leading in this decision.
Please keep us in your prayers as we begin our lives together in service to the Lord, as your co-workers. Sheila and I will be in
the States for a couple of years doing recruitment full time for Outreach International Mission. There are several countries

where we still need teams of students to go and study and share the Gospel. We are well on the way with plans to enter
HUNGARY and GERMANY. It appears that RUSSIA can also be entered under student status. This is promising to be one of
our biggest years in mission outreach.

There are countries all over the world where we need teams of missionary students. The only way we can reach the lost with
the Gospel is to recruit and send new workers. Churches need help from us to know the needs and how to meet those needs.

Campus ministries and Bible Colleges need to know the great opportunities for reaching these new open countries in Europe.
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT DAY in these changing times. Ours is an important work. We will be helping as God enables us to
inform the Christians of this great task before us.

Many New Volunteers in Michigan

It was a really thrilling experience to be with dad in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan the last of January when he was the
speaker at the winter retreat. We had 160 students there from 6 Michigan universities. It was great to talk to all of these
students. Dad and I interviewed student mission volunteers all weekend. These are people who plan to go this year, Lord
willing. Wow! It was so encouraging to see the enthusiasm in these young people, as they made decisions to drop personal

plans and seek the will and work of God in making disciples of other nations. I spent time explaining what was needed to get
ready for overseas work, what they would be facing when getting on the field. Some want us to visit their church to present the
need and give more details of mission work.

some great things with these people.

Dad and Mom just moved up here to Lansing, Michigan; and I will be here as well until May, meeting with students and
explaining things about missions. After Sheila and I are married wewill do a lot of traveling this year, to colleges and churches
and church camps. We want to encourage, motivate and help churches and workers to do the work of the Lord that is before us

today. The work of the Kingdom in other lands where most have never heard the Gospel, must be done.

Please Pray About Our Need

For Added Financial Support
Until this time, in all 6 years of mission work I have lived on support for a single worker. We would now like to ask your
prayers and help to increase our support at least $500.00 more per month. Recommend us to other churches or whatever you
may feel God leading you to do. We ask for your prayers also that God will lead us to the right people to encourage toward mis
sion work. We will be happy to visit you as well. Camps this summer and other meetings will be welcome, we have some

openings for youth revivals and other meetings, to share missions in any way we can. I was happy to speak at the chapel
service in San Jose Bible College in January. It was a pleasure to share with the faculty and students the urgency of missions.
I was happy to see my oldest sister Fran and her husband Pete Laughren arrive from South Africa. Mom, Dad and I went
down to meet them and visit with them for a few days in Georgia for their furlough this year. Webrought back a 17' U Haul with
Dad and Mom's stuff from Atlanta. It all has to fit in their two bedroom apartment. We are getting acquainted with the Great
Lakes Bible College staff and students, and churches and University students in this area, so it is a busy time.

Remember to pray to the Lord of the Harvest for Laborers for the great harvest. Pray that we will preach the Gospel with
Boldness where Christ has not been named, and that He will provide our needs.

Dear Friends of Christ,

We send you our gree-'tings with much admiration and thankfulness for all
you have done to keep our work going* Things iiere i-i Lansing, Michigan are
doing just great. Since our last newsletter, we have finished travelling for
the summer are heading into our fall schedule. The two weeks of camp in
Oklahoma were terrific. We had a great staff ana were able to make lots of
new and promising friends! All in all, we feel that the summer was fruitful.
When we returned from the camps, we were able to spend some time with the

family* Pete and Fran came up to Lansing and it was great to have the whole
family together again since it has been five years since the last family get
together. It was especially good for me because I have so recently joined the
family! Soon after Pete and Fran went home, we saw Sonja and the team off in
Detroit, Hungary bound! We sure miss her, but it's great to have Karen here
to pal around with.

Jonathan and I have been keeping busy catching up on our correspoifdence

and getting our files in order. We also have been travelling to Manistee
every week-end to share with the people there since they are in need of a
minister.

Jonathan has been filling in for his dad while he was in Fiji.

I have also been working since some of our support

I have a job at a theatre, and have fun telling my co-workers

about Christ! Please pray for me as I work and deal with them, as some of
them are really against the Bible. Anyway, Jonathan and I have been keeping
busy and love it.

We have enjoyed the time working with Karen as we work with the Inter
national Students.

time with them.

We have enjoyed the time getting to know them, and spendi/^

We have our own "international student" living with us.

Lia

Pao Yang is a Hmong minister who is attending Great Lakes Bible College, three
days a week, so since he lives in Saginaw, he stays with us on the nights
that he is in. town. Lia works with the Hmong people here in Lansing, so
Jonathan and I hope that we can help Lia reach the Hmong people in our
neiahborhood. We have had a oreat time with Lia especially since he cooks us
dishes from his homeland! I can's say that I like the food, but Jonathan sure
does!

Of course, you ail know how Jonathan likes to eat!

Well since I am almost done with this newsletter, I will leave you wrt.i a

few prayer requests that Jonathan and I have.

1) Full support so we can both work as full time recruiters.

2) The Hmong people and the chance to work with them.

3) Safe travels for Jonathan as he travels this next month. I

won't be able to go with him, because I have to work.

A'^ we c'ose ^his l^^tter, we'd like to thank you all again for alx your

prayers and support and especially your friendship. We
