EXT. OF REGENCY STREET CAFE


In front of the entrance of Regency Street Cafe, illuminated
by the moonlight stands Maitre D Jean Philippe, a skinny
Frenchman with his slicked back black hair and a perfectly
pressed suit with a bow tie. He waits and mysteriously stairs
out into space.
V.O
Here deep inside Regency Street
Cafe, a place of vibrant flavors
and peculiar people, lies Londons
best kept secret, Chef Burbidge.
INT. KITCHEN
Through the shelves, pots, and pans of a small stainless
steal kitchen, Chef Burbidge, 35, with a chubby face and soft
pink cheeks is introduced in his chefs uniform singing opera
and chopping celery and carrots on a wood cutting board and
large sharp knife.
V.O
Some say that the Chef is able to
create the richest and delicious
dishes out of the simplest
ingredients and that one bite is
all you need to send you straight
to your grave.
CUT TO:
INSERT
A white plate is stacked one by one with colorful foods until
it is a colorful complete dish.
V.O
Little do people know that the chef
has never tasted a single dish he
has created.
INT. KITCHEN
The chef leans over close to kitchen counter and smells each
one of his colorful dishes on white plates with passion.
V.O
Every night, hungry people await
the chefs night special.

INT. RESTURANT
Jean Philippe statically stands with menus in his hands at
the restaurants check in podium with a line of hungry people
waiting to be seated.
V.O
And every night the chef awaits
little old Mr. Pimlico.
INT. KITCHEN
The chef is setting up a little table with a white cloth, a
candle and a white rose in the back of the kitchen. As he
delicately places his new nightly special on the table, there
is a knock on the back door. The chef opens its and in walks
Mr. Pimlico, 86, with hair as white as snow, black framed
glasses, an old green cardigan, a brown hat, and a wooden
cane.
CHEF BURBIDGE
Ah, good evening Mr. Pimlico. Ive
got something special for you
tonight.
With a smile on his sweet fragile face, Pimlico walks slowly
over to the table the chef has set up for him.
MR. PIMLICO
Good evening Burbidge, what have
you got for me tonight.
The chef pulls the chair out for Mr. Pimlico to sit in.
CHEF BURBIDGE
Tonight, we have a fillet of Angus
beef with Swiss chard, wild
mushrooms and red wine sauce and
baked line-caught sea bass with
confit fennel and caviar sauce.
The chef is standing and speaking with confidence and
formalism at the table.
V.O
(As the Chef and Mr. Pimlico
continue to talk, there voices fade
and the V.O comes in) - Chef
Burbidge would never let out any
one single dish of his without Mr.
Pimlico blessing.

MONTAGE
Mr. Pimlicos takes a slurp of green soup and makes a bitter
face.
MR. PIMLICO
Its to sour! Needs more spice!
More spice boy.
Mr. Pimlico has bread in his mouth and yells
MR. PIMLICO (CONTD)
To dry! More eggs.
Mr. Pimlicos chews with annoyance.
Chef Burbidge raises his hands with a typical chefs
frustrations.
To chewy

MR. PIMLICO (CONTD)

Mr. Pimlico pushes his plate forward.


Just no.

MR. PIMLICO (CONTD)

Mr. Pimlico shakes his head.


No.

MR. PIMLICO (CONTD)

Chef Burbidge stirs away with sweat on his face.


Mr. Pimlico chews and suddenly his eyebrows raise with
enlightenment and he smiles.
MR. PIMLICO (CONTD)
Perfect! Ah ha ha mate! This is
perfect.
Chef Burbidge smiles and twirls around once and begins to
sing opera.
INT. RESTURANT
Jean Philippe sets the nights dish at the Sloane couples
table.
JEAN PHILIPPE
Your dinner is served.

Mrs. Sloane, a middle aged cooky British woman in a pastel
floral dress and to much blush on her cheeks sits giggling
with her chubby grumpy grunting looking husband.
MR. SLOANE
Ooowh la la Jean Philippe. This
looks Deliciouses.
JEAN PHILIPPE
Bon appetit Mrs. Sloane. Mr.
Sloane.
With a cheesy smile Jean Philippe turns around, then his
smile immediately turns to an emotionless fierce face and he
flips his eyes.
Jean Philippe stands and sets the dinner plates at the table
of Mr. Rose and his bratty daughter little Rose. Mr. Rose, a
middle class and mid-aged handsome British gentleman who
works hard and only sees his daughter once every two weeks
sits speaking to Rose as if she is a spoiled little girl
ready to scream.
JEAN PHILIPPE (CONTD)
Good evening Mr. Rose. Here is
Chefs special dish for the night.
LITTLE ROSE
Daddy, yours looks better than
mine. I want to have yours.
Mr. Rose sadly looks down at his plate and pushed his plate
toward little Rose.
Little Rose give him a bratty smirky smile.
INT. KITCHEN
In between the kitchen shelves, Jean Philippe walks toward
the chef.
CHEF BURBIDGE
Jean Philippe, tell me tonight
reviews.
CUT TO:
MONTAGE
Charlotte Blanc, 30, a beautiful thin pale faced french woman
dressed in all black who shows no emotion sits in the
resturant.

CHARLOTTE BLANC
Tre magnifique.
Mrs. Sloane giggles.
MRS. SLOANE
Oh, Brava!! Ah ha ha Brava.
Mr. Sloane grunts and gives a small smile of approval.
Mr. Rose looks at this daughter eat his plate with
desperation.
Little Rose evilly licks her lips.
LITTLE ROSE
Daddy, wasnt it delicious!
Yes dear.

MR. ROSE

INT. KITCHEN
JEAN PHILIPPE
Another successful night Chef.
Chef Burbidge smiles and sings opera! And tries to dance the
waltz with fragile little Mr. Pimlico.
CUT TO:
INT. KITCHEN
There is a pan of a used kitchen with the knives set down,
dishes in the sink, and vegetable scraps.
Chef Burbidge shows Mr. Pimlico out the back door.
CHEF BURBIDGE
Like always, I couldnt have done
it without you Mr. Pimlico. You are
the guidance to all my flavors. I
humbly thank you. See you tomorrow?
MR. PIMLICO
Wouldnt miss it for the world
mate. Tomorrow.
Mr. Pimlico waves good night as the door closes.

Chef Burbidge has a satisfied smile on his face.
FADE TO BLACK.
THE NEXT DAY
Chef Burbidge is singing opera and cooking away when suddenly
he shouts with delight!
CHEF BURBIDGE
I have done it! Finally!
Perfection! (He sings perfection
with his opera voice)
Jean Philippe hurries into the kitchen.
JEAN PHILIPPE
What have you done Chef?
CHEF BURBIDGE
Ah la la! Ive created my best dish
yet! Oh the flavors, oh the smells!
I cant wait for Pimlico to get
here.
CUT TO:
INSERT
Empty white plates being piled with the chefs masterpiece.
INT. KITCHEN
The chef hums and sets up Mr. Pimlicos table and looks at
the clock.
The chef cooks and looks at the back door.
Time passes and there is no sign on Mr. Pimlico.
Through the kitchen shelves Jean Philippe enters.
JEAN PHILIPPE
Sir, the people are waiting.
CUT TO:
INT. RESTURANT

Little Rose sits frustration with a fork in her hand.
Paulina sits and glances at her watch.
Mrs. Sloane giggles and then stops.
INT. KITCHEN
CHEF BURBIDGE
He will be here, I know it. Give it
a few more minutes.
Times passes and the chef sits at Mr. Pimlicos table and
looks at his dish with a fork in his hand. With hesitance he
swallows air. He hear a sound in the kitchen and his eyes
jump to the back door to see if anyone is there, but nobody
is. He puts a fork in the food on the plate and with a shaky
hand he brings the food close to his open mouth. He squeezes
his eyes shut and bites. As he chews his face loosens up and
he starts moaning with pleasure.
CHEF BURBIDGE (CONTD)
Jean Philippe it is ready!
CUT TO:
INT. RESTURANT
Mr. Rose chews with bliss.
Mr. Sloane chews and grunts with joy.
Charlotte Blanc chews with her eyes closed and smiling.
INT. KITCHEN
Its the end of the night, the resturant in empty and the
chef is cleaning up the kitchen when there is a faint knock
on the back door.
The chef opens the door and in walks small fragile Mr.
Pimlico.
CHEF BURBIDGE
Mr. Pimlico.
MR. PIMLICO
Ah mate, Im sorry for my delay.
These old bones arent like used to
be. Am I to late.

8.
Chef Burbidge smiles with sadness for Mr. Pimlicos age.
CHEF BURBIDGE
Never Mr Pimlico. You are never to
late.
Chef Burbidge brings a plate of food to Mr. Pimlico.
CHEF BURBIDGE (CONTD)
Tonights dish is ... with ...,
smothered in... sauce, and topped
off with... (have not decided on
the perfect dish yet)
Mr. Pimlico takes a bite and moans and smiles with the
greatest of joys. He smiles as Chef Burbidge and then
suddenly falls over and dies with the biggest restful smile
one could ever have, as if his soul immediately floated to
heaven.
V.O
Some say Mr. Pimlico died of shock
that night in Recency Cafe.
FADE TO BLACK:
V.O (CONTD)
But Chef Burbidge likes to say he
was saved.
There is a sound of Burbidge singing.
