It is essential to know the materials prior to teaching with them.

Prepare the Materials

Experience using the materials is important.

Prepare the Environment

Setting up the instructional environment helps to make the
learning experience valuable.

Prepare the Learners

Knowing what is expected of them helps learners be involved in
the learning.

Provide the Learning Experience

The actual presentation needs to be considered.

State Objectives
Objectives are descriptions of the learning outcomes and are
written using the ABCD format.

Require Learner Participation

A description of the activities designed to provide practice with
feedback for the learners.

Select Methods, Media, and Materials

Evaluate and Revise

Include all the methods, media, and materials that are essential
to the lesson.

Assessment of Learner Achievement

Rationale

Evaluation of Instruction (including media

It is important to consider why certain media have been

selected.

Evaluation of Commercial Materials

Appraisal Checklists are valuable when selecting commercial
materials.

To ensure quality instruction, it is important to evaluate the experience for future planning.

to you and derive a set of at least five
objectives that you feel the author intended.
