Overview
PLC firmware must be upgraded in the following sequence.
Upgrading ML200R PLC firmware for Expansion Manager (Built inside CPU)
4.2
To upgrade PLC firmware for Expansion Driver module (redundant and non-redundant),
perform the following steps.
Step
Action
Change both the CPUs to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is in
REMOTE mode.

After the download is complete, the downloader tool changes to initial mode
and LED in the Expansion driver module blinks.
9
Power off and on (Reset CPU and IO base) to make upgrade firmware online.
ATTENTION
If there are more than two expansion bases in the system, all the
expansion bases (particular ring) are upgraded at once.

4.5
Only CPU firmware version can be upgraded online and not Expansion
Manager/Driver.
To upgrade PLC firmware for CPU during operation (online), perform the following
steps.
ATTENTION
The following procedure is given by considering the CPU A as Master and
CPU B as Standby.
Execute the procedure carefully based on your current status of CPU or
ensure CPU A as Master and follow the procedure.
Step
Action
Remove the synchronization cable (OFC) between Master CPU (A) and
Standby CPU (B) and all I/O cables connected to Standby CPU (B) to isolate
the Standby CPU (B) from operation.
Change the mode from REMOTE to RUN using a key switch. Hence, the
isolated Standby CPU (B) becomes a Master CPU (B).
Change the isolated CPU to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is
set back to REMOTE mode

SoftMaster). Both CPUs are in RUN mode even if the OS versions are
different.
12
Change Master CPU (A) to STOP mode. Then, this Master CPU (A) becomes
Standby CPU (A) and the Standby CPU (B) becomes Master CPU (B)

4.6
Power on CPU (A) and change its mode to RUN (by Key switch or
SoftMaster). Both CPUs are in RUN mode being CPU (B) as Master and
CPU (A) as Standby.
Action
Connect USB cable to Master CPU (for example, CPU A) and launch
SoftMaster-NM.
