Thiscoursefacilitatesastudyofdrawingthrough
problemsolving.Theproblems,ordrawingsituations,
presentedineachclass,focusonissuesofgesture,
spatialrelationships,shape,value,line,texture,
perspective,andsubjectiveinterpretations.Students
willfaceavarietyofdrawingsituationsthroughout
thecourse.Studentswillbedirectedtousespecific
techniquestorespondtothesituationsinorderto
expandtheirawarenessoftechnicalchoicesin
drawing.Inadditiontocreatingartworkstoaddress
thedrawingsituations,studentswillmaintaina
creativewrittenrecordoftheirprocessesinthe
solvingofeachdrawingsituation.Thisrecordwill
beusedwhenthestudentcreatesapresentationof
herworkattheendofthesemester.Keepingwritten
recordsofartisticprocessesprovidesstudent
artistswithanongoingtextresourcethatcanbe
