Summer 2015 Wanted The communications team at the Denver Art Museum is seeking a selfmotivated, dynamic, upbeat and responsible intern seeking real-life experience at a leading arts institutions in the region. Position Purpose The communications team at the Denver Art Museum is looking for a dynamic, upbeat intern who wants to learn the ropes of the communications field, with special emphasis in graphic design. The intern will work as part of a team but also will be asked to work independently to complete tasks. The intern joins a crew whose department output includes advertising, marketing, public relations, public affairs/government relations, graphic design, community relations and social media. Essential Duties/Responsibilities The intern will have the opportunity to build their design skills as they contribute to design communication projects, as well as understanding the structure and organization of a non-profit, in-house design department completing a variety of tasks, including: project research design concept and layout photography searches building and maintaining font, photo, and design resources libraries Interns commit to 15-20 hours a week for the semester, scheduling is flexible (M-F between the hours of 9 and 5). Education or Formal Training The ideal candidate: Is currently a junior or senior enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program in a Graphic Design or Communication Design program. Has a portfolio that demonstrates accomplished conceptual and design skills. Will have a strong idea of what they would like to learn from their internship experience. Additional Information This is a part-time internship for academic credit, and includes great perks but no financial compensation.
