Position: USBOXLA Social Media and Journalism Intern


About United Stated Box Lacrosse Association, (USBOXLA):
The United Stated Box Lacrosse Association is a national non-profit organization
which supports and trains players, coaches and referees in the sport of box
lacrosse. It supports over four thousand members and has experienced
exponential growth in 2015.
Shaydon Santos and Matt Brown are the founders of USBOXLA. Both of these
men are former NLL and MLL players. Organizationally, we are a fast-paced,
thinking outside the box, positive, small group of individuals dedicated to
developing the best national box lacrosse organization in the country.
Scope: The scope of this position is threefold.
1. First, the person in this position will be assisting USBOXLA in developing
and expanding it social media impact within the lacrosse community.
2. The person in this position will write about the community and the events
that take place within the teams at a player and coach level.
3. The person in this position will support a player/coach blog, coordinating
players throughout the country and pairing their questions with answers
from our instructors, (many who are in the NLL).
This is an unpaid internship. The term begins April 30, 2015. It requires
approximately 5 hours per week. There may be an opportunity for travel, (paid).
The length of the internship is negotiable. You will meet and work with
influencers in the lacrosse world. At the end of the internship, reference letters
will be written identifying all accomplishments and impacts for the organization.

Requirements:
1. A working knowledge of the impacts a strong social media plan can have
as an influencer within a community and the ability to develop a plan that
will support USBOXLA becoming the #1 influencer.
2. Working knowledge of Twitter, Face book, Instagram.
3. Excellent writing skills.
4. The ability to story tell creatively.
5. The ability to collaborate on ideas and execute them fully.
6. Entrepreneurial, creative spirit and self-starter.
7. This position does not require coming to the office. You may work the 5
hours anytime during a week that you wish as long as the mutually
determined deadlines are being met.
