Jesus words from the cross

Father forgive them, for they know not

what they do

Moses then returned to the LORD and said,
These people have committed a terrible
sin. They have made a god out of gold and
worshiped it. Please forgive their sin

I will arise and go to my father, and I will
say to him, Father, I have sinned against
heaven and before you. I am no longer
worthy to be called your son.

The troubles of my heart are enlarged;
bring me out of my distresses. Consider my
affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my
sins.

Forgive us for doing wrong, as we forgive
others. Keep us from being tempted and
protect us from evil.

If my people who are called by my name
humble themselves, and pray and seek my
face and turn from their wicked ways, then I
will hear from heaven and will forgive their
sin and heal their land.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just

to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from
all unrighteousness.

Truly, I say to you, today you will be with

me in Paradise.

Do you not fear God, since you are under
the same sentence of condemnation? And
we indeed justly, for we are receiving the
due reward of our deeds; but this man has
done nothing wrong." And he said, "Jesus,
remember me when you come into your
kingdom.

And the people of Israel did not remember
the LORD their God, who had delivered
them from the hand of all their enemies on
every side

I will treat them with kindness, even
though they are wicked. I will forget their
sins.

And they remembered his words

Remember that you were at that time
separated from Christhaving no hope and
without God in the world. But now in Christ
Jesus you who once were far off have been
brought near by the blood of Christ.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the
Spirit says to the churches. To the one who
conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of
life, which is in the paradise of God.

Woman, behold, your son!"

Behold, your mother!

Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in

this way. When his mother Mary had been
betrothed to Joseph, before they came
together she was found to be with child
from the Holy Spirit.

A sword will pierce your heart

And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary
his mother, Behold, this child is appointed
for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and
for a sign that is opposed (and a sword will
pierce through your own soul also), so that
thoughts from many hearts may be
revealed.

And his mother treasured up all these things

in her heart.

His mother said to the servants, Do
whatever he tells you.

Honour your father and mother (this is the

first commandment with a promise), that it
may go well with you and that you may live
long in the land.

And he was told, Your mother and your
brothers are standing outside, desiring to
see you. But he answered them, My mother
and my brothers are those who hear the
word of God and do it.

Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying,

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken
me?"

And being found in human form, he

humbled himself by becoming obedient to
the point of death, even death on a cross.

I am poured out like water, and all my

bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax;
it is melted within my breast; my strength is
dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue
sticks to my jaws; you lay me in the dust of
death.

For dogs encompass me; a company of

evildoers encircles me; they have pierced
my hands and feet-- I can count all my
bones-- they stare and gloat over me; they
divide my garments among them, and for my
clothing they cast lots.

And now, O our God, what shall we say
after this? For we have forsaken your
commandments

For our sake he made him to be sin who

knew no sin, so that in him we might
become the righteousness of God.

For the word of the cross is folly to those
who are perishing, but to us who are being
saved it is the power of God.

I thirst.

And he was very thirsty, and he called upon
the LORD and said, "You have granted this
great salvation by the hand of your servant,
and shall I now die of thirst and fall into the
hands of the uncircumcised?"

You gave your good Spirit to instruct them

and did not withhold your manna from their
mouth and gave them water for their thirst.

When the poor and needy seek water, and

there is none, and their tongue is parched
with thirst, I the LORD will answer them; I
the God of Israel will not forsake them.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst

for righteousness, for they shall be
satisfied.

Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life;

whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and
whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst

anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor
any scorching heat. For the Lamb in the
midst of the throne will be their shepherd,
and he will guide them to springs of living
water, and God will wipe away every tear
from their eyes.

On the last day of the feast, the great day,
Jesus stood up and cried out, If anyone
thirsts, let him come to me and drink.
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture
has said, Out of his heart will flow rivers of
living water.

It is finished

For this reason the Father loves me,

because I lay down my life that I may take it
up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay
it down of my own accord. I have authority
to lay it down, and I have authority to take it
up again.

For I am already being poured out as a

drink offering, and the time of my departure
has come. I have fought the good fight, I
have finished the race, I have kept the
faith.

He is the radiance of the glory of God and

the exact imprint of his nature, and he
upholds the universe by the word of his
power. After making purification for sins, he
sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on
high

But when Christ had offered for all time a

single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the
right hand of God, waiting from that time
until his enemies should be made a
footstool for his feet. For by a single offering
he has perfected for all time those who are
being sanctified.

For the death he died he died to sin, once

for all, but the life he lives he lives to God.
So you also must consider yourselves dead
to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

For God so loved the world, that he gave

his only Son, that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life. For
God did not send his Son into the world to
condemn the world, but in order that the
world might be saved through him.

There is therefore now no condemnation

for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the
law of the Spirit of life has set you free in
Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!

Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have

redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God.

As for me, I would seek God, and to God

would I commit my cause

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in

him, and he will act.

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though

dead. But he laid his right hand on me,
saying, "Fear not, I am the first and the last,
and the living one. I died, and behold I am
alive forevermore, and I have the keys of
Death and Hades.

Now to him who is able to keep you from

stumbling and to present you blameless
before the presence of his glory with great
joy, to the only God, our Saviour, through
Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty,
dominion, and authority, before all time and
now and forever. Amen.
