Updates:
Fortuna Campaign
Signs Swiped
The Times Standard (10/25/14) is reporting
a rash of stolen campaign signs over the
past several weeks. City Manager Regan
Candelario said It is not fair for any candidate or any issue to have that kind of
unscrupulous activity going on. Police Chief
Bill Dobberstein stated that this is the first
year this has happened and that the thefts
have all occurred during the night while
most residents are asleep. Since the signs
are being taken rather than just pulled out
of the ground, those responsible can be
charged with petty theft a misdemeanor.
It is interesting to note that the TS declined
to identify which candidate or party signs
were being stolen.

Did you know

- this year in California, nearly 70 percent of
voting in the states primary election was
done by mail?

On the national level

Democrats have launched attack ads in
Iowa, New Hampshire and Louisiana
accusing Republicans in significant races of
concealing plans to cut Social Security and
Medicare. These ads are aimed at older
voters who vote in large numbers and tend
to support the Republican Party. In the 2010
mid-term elections, 21 percent of all ballots
belonged to voters 65 and older (in 2012
that percentage declined to 16 percent). In
both years, these older voters preferred
Republicans to Democrats. The Dems have
their work cut out for them regarding this
demographic (TS 10/28/14).

Presidents
Message
What Will Your Part Be?
Right now Im about ready to misquote and add to a famous verse of poetry. Shakespeare,
we know, wrote, All the worlds a stage and you and I are merely players. Perhaps right
after that he wrote, What part will you play?
This is an exciting time in history. As I write this, the Republicans are set to gain seats locally,
state-wide, and nationally. What we do with these victories is up to us. How will we
respond to these victories? Will those Republicans who are elected, and those who elected
them, remember that these wins are thankful reminders that Americans can change their
minds and vote for real Hope for Change. Those who elected these Republican leaders are as
responsible for the hope for real change as much as those we have elected are.
Servants of all the people. Thats who our elected officials should be and not servants of a
political party. Yes, we have our ideals, but our leadership needs to be wise and not political.
It needs to listen to all segments of the population before rendering their decisions. They
need to collaborate across the table and build a foundation of respect for one anothers
ideas. We do not have all the answers, and certainly know the Democrats dont either. What
we have now happens when there is no balance of power. Leaders play politics with our
individual futures and that of the United States in general. Leadership is not about power.
Its about servanthood.
Humility in the face of victory! Attitude is everything! Its a new dawn and a new day! Let
us Reflect, Refresh, and Rebuild our Club and our Republican Party from the ground up!
Theres an exciting time ahead. What will your part be? How will you as an individual and us
corporately aid in this endeavor? Lets talk! Lets unite on November 20 at our luncheon on
Herrick Ave and celebrate our victories locally and across the state and across this land we
call HOME.
Even as you finish reading this article, consider stopping and calling Leola Santsche
(443-7205) with your reservation for Thursday, November 20. Let us gather one more time
together to celebrate what we are thankful for and for this Great Nation (still) under God.
Please understand that we must pay for forty reservations even when twenty-five attend.
This is our last meeting of the year and we wont be meeting until February.

America to Obama:
Step aside, bro

Herman Cain: As much as they could, last night the

American people fired Barack Obama. ...

A Rejection of
Liberal Democratic
Governance
Jim Demint at The Daily Signal : Republicans won 7
Democratic seats (so far!), lost none, and took
control of the Senate. Harry Reid is history. Democrats thought for sure theyd add some governorships. Nope. They won one but lost 4, including the
governors race in the reddest of red states, Maryland. In the House, they lost at least 8 seats, probably more when the final results are in. Now there are
more House Republicans on Capitol Hill than weve
seen in many decades....
Theres no reason to haggle over whether it was a
wave. Id simply call it a defeat worse than Democrats suffered in 2010. And it wasnt just a rejection
of President Obama and his policies. It was a rejection of liberal Democratic governance and all its
excesses from Washington to the hinterlands.

Republicans
Precinct walking for the Doug Ose campaign was fun! #redNovember #hcr #HUMBOLDT #bestpartyoncampus

On Saturday, October 25th 2014, members of the Humboldt State College Republicans (John
Hudson, Kenneth Pocasangre, Everett Heath and Dustin Mazone) went to Sacramento to walk the
precincts and hand out literature for Congressional candidate Doug Ose.
Ose is running for the 7th district seat against current Representative Ami Bera. Getting the word
out for Ose in this election is especially important as a September poll shows Bera locked in a
statistical dead heat with Ose. An added bonus to our young men spending the weekend in
Sacramento is they once again got to spend time with Gubernatorial candidate Neel Kashkari.
