Assalamualaikum wr.

wb
First of all, lets say our praise and gratitude to Allah the One and Almighty due to His
illimitable grace and blessing upon all of us so that on this good occasion we all can gather up in
the best condition of our health.
To the honorable teachers, and to all the priding students of SMA TARBIAH DINIAH,
I wish all of us stay in high-spirited condition to become success people in the future.
Hopefully this bright day could be a sign of starting point for our lives that will be getting
brighter. Aamiin.
To all my beloved friends of SMA TARBIAH DINIAH,
All of you are people who will be success in the future days. This is all we wish as your parents at
school. It will be our pride by seeing you become success people.
The first step to achieve the success is that you must have dreams. Dream big and high!
As high as possible and keep all of your dreams steady even though the storm and hurricane are
raging! Let your dreams stay fluttering above the sky stoutly just like this red-white flag.
If you havent had any dream yet, then it is the time. What will you become in 5 years
from now? What do you want to have at age 30? Decide your dream from now. Plan on your
dream in good and right ways! Let your dreams enslave you until all of the dreams come true.
Open your eyes, my friends, let me emphasize the thing once more to you all that having
dream is a sign of person who lives and holds the hope. His or her life will be impassioned and
kept away from any kind of illness and pressure.
You can open the stories of great people. Then you will find that their success and
achievements that made their names written in the history of a life time was all begun from a
dream. Just look at Prophet Muhammad Saw, Marcopolo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Ishak Newton, and
other hundreds of great people. They all started out from a dream.
For that reason, this is your time to build your dreams. What you want in life and then it is
the time to dream. Your age is golden age, so do not waste that away.
That is the end of my speech. I wish my words could bring good things for all of us. I say
my apology for my mistakes on my words. Thank you for the attention.
Wassalamualaikum wr.wb

sholawat and greetings to our Prophet Muhammad, who has brought us from darkness into the light to age, so
we are always on the right path.
Of a variety of reasons and opinions will arise when we hear the question "Did learning English is
important?" Sure some say learning English is important for various reasons and opinions and also there who
think learning English is less important and is not important for various reasons and opinion. According to you,
it is important whether learning English?
On this occasion, allow me to present a speech on "Learning English is it important ?"
Ladies and Gentlemen
Departing from a question of "whether important to learn English?" How important do you think the English
language to learn? We all know that English is one of the few international language that is used in many
countries in addition to Arabic and Chinese. English is a language derived from English country then spread
through his mastery until it touches the Americas and then the English language used there. Britain and the US
who later became a great country that has a strong influence in all areas, making the English language into a
language that is often used today.
And that makes the important English is English is a language that has a special status in 75 countries and
used in more than 100 countries. English is the international language for business, sports, academic, science,
technology, advertising and diplomatic.
Do we have to ask if it turns out English is widely used in almost all areas by many countries in the
world ???
Ladies and gentlemen.
Many people in this country do not agree about the importance of learning English, which is of course
accompanied by a variety of reasons and their opinions. They argue: Why do we have to learn English? When

we still had its own language, the Indonesian language, which is used as the national language and unifying
our country. Why do we have to learn English? When we still have thousands of regional languages should we
preserve.
However, we live in this world is not his own. There are some things that require communication language
in different countries. Therefore, we certainly need a unifying language. And English emerged as an
international language we know. To that end, it is important to learn the English language from primary school
up to the top level so that pupils and students have the nation's next international outlook which will determine
the future of our beloved country, Indonesia.
Do you still ask "whether learning English is important?"
Not much I can say today, just a few lines above the words that I can say to you on this occasion, thank you
very much for your attention and I apologize for my mistakes and I say the final word:
Walikumsalam Wr. Wb.

THIS HOUSE BELIEVE THAT JUNK FOOD IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF HEALTH PROBLEMS
we're as the government team and we're stand for the motion given .

first speaker
_____________________________________________________

Assalamualaikum and good afternoon to the respected speaker, cautious time keeper, honorable judges, members of
the opposite team and members of the floor.
Before I put forward my case today I would like to define todays motion This house believes junk food is the main
cause of health problems. According to the Longman dictionary of contemporary English published in 2003, junk food
means food that is not healthy because it contains a lot of fat, sugar etc. Main means most important than all other
things. Cause means a thing that makes something to happen. Heath problem means something wrong with your health
or with part of your body. In short our motion today is defined as the unhealthy food is the most important factor that
causes something to go wrong with the general condition of your body.
Today I ...........................as the first speaker of the government team strongly believe with the motion This house
believes that junk food is the main cause of health problems. Today I will be the first speaker of the government team
and will present one argument,.................. as the second speaker will give two arguments and ........................
will rebut all the arguments presented by the opposite team. Today we as the government team strongly believe with
the motion This house believes that junk food is the main cause of health problems.
Nutrition plays a key role in the health of individuals. The diet related diseases include obesity, diabetes, hypertension,
cardiovascular diseases and certain types of cancer. Thus, the role of diet as a cause of obesity is significant. The
excessive consumption of junk food has become recognized as the risk factor associated with the problem of obesity. I
strongly believe that junk food is the main cause of obesity. What make junk food so unhealthy are the high levels of
salt, sugar, fats and carbohydrates in them. A study done by the Indias Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) on
junk food and nutrition has disclosed that most of the junk foods contain very high levels of trans fats, salts and sugar
which inevitably lead to severe ill health and diseases like obesity and diabetes.
According to the Nestle Products Sdn Bhd, Malaysia is the 13th country that consumes the most number of instant
noodles with 1.3 million packets sold daily to consumers. Instant noodle is a junk food that lacks nutritive value, it is
high in carbohydrate, sodium and other food additives, but low on essential elements such as fibre, vitamins and
minerals.
We all know junk food is bad, we still eat it. But do we know how bad it is? Do we ever check what we are eating and
whether what that packet of chips or instant noodles has what it claims it has? For instance, the World Health
Organisation (WHO) benchmark for the maximum salt that one person should have in a day is 5 gram. The normal 80gram packet of instant noodles that many of us gobble up almost on a daily basis has over 3.5 gram of salt enough to
take care of over 60 per cent of our allowed daily salt intake. This means for the rest of the day, we will be restricted
to have food which should contain less than 2 gram of salt. Not a happy choice at all for us in the sub-continent who
love to have our salt and eat it too.
The terror is in the trans fats or the bad fats. The WHO says that in a balanced diet, a maximum of 1 per cent of total
energy should come from trans fats. Therefore, an adult male can have 2.6 gram of trans fats per day, while an adult
female can have 2.1 gram and a child (10-12 years) can have 2.3 gram. Many junk foods claim they have 0 trans fats;
some dont even bother to mention how much trans fats they have.
The researchers behind the study say that the heavy doses of trans fats, joined with that of salt which comes from all
the so called fun foods -- work together to trigger ill health which can lead to death. Trans fats are notorious for
clogging arteries: they deposit on the walls of the arteries and make them narrower. On top of that, when one has

large amounts of salt, the blood pressure increases. The heart has to work overtime to push the blood around, which
weakens it considerably. There is enough global evidence to suggest that more and more young people are succumbing
to problems of the heart at a much earlier age. At an age when they should have been at their productive best, they
are losing productive life by eating this junk.
The increase in childhood obesity over the past several decades, together with the associated health problems and
costs, is raising grave concern among health care professionals, policy experts, children's advocates, and parents.
Researchers begin by reviewing research on energy intake, energy expenditure, and "energy balance," noting that
children who eat more "empty calories" and expend fewer calories through physical activity are more likely to be obese
than other children.
A research was carried out to determine what has changed in children's environment over the past three decades to
upset this energy balance equation. Changes in the food market, in the built environment, in schools and child care
settings, and in the role of parents paying attention to the timing of these changes were examined. Among the changes
that affect children's energy intake are the increasing availability of energy-dense, high-calorie foods and drinks
through schools. Changes in the family, particularly an increase in dual-career or single-parent working families, may
also have increased demand for food away from home or pre-prepared foods. This means the children nowadays
consume more junk food than before.
According to the article The Obesity Prevention Source written by a group of individuals from the Harvard School of
Public Health, obesity is starting to effect younger individual, mostly school children and there has been a direct
correlation between school, fast food or junk food industry and obese school children. Christa Miller, a health
specialist, from Harvard argues that fast food is the leading cause of obesity which causes health problems. This is a
serious issue because the unhealthy eating habits is formed young. Obesity can contribute to chronic conditions, such
as type 2 diabetes, ischaemic heart disease, bowel cancer and gall bladder diseases.
Furthermore, according to Dr. Tee E Siong, president of the Nutrition society of Malaysia (NSM), the fat phenomenon
in our country can be attributed to poor eating habits and a diet high in calories. More meals are eaten away from
home, family meals and greater portions sizes may also have contributed to childhood overweight.
Once again before I rest my case I would like to stress that junk food is the main cause of health problems. Thank
you.

Assalamualaikum wbt and a very good afternoon to the chairperson, time keeper, members of the opposition team,
judges, ladies and gentlemen. I'm the second speaker for the government team and I will be continuing my team's case
today. Our team strongly agree with this statement which is this house believes that junk food is the main cause of
health problems. I agree/disagree with the definition given by the opposition. (If disagree redefine the motion). Now,
ladies and gentlemen , allow me to rebut the points laid out by the opposition.
The first speaker of the opposition team said
that .............................................................................................................................................
......................................................................... Okay, ladies and gentlemen please take a look at our
motion today . The motion of todays debate is THIS HOUSE BELIEVES THAT JUNK FOOD IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF
HEALTH PROBLEMS . What *opposition point* got to do with todays debate motion? I disagree with that point
because ........................................................................................................................................
................................................................................
Now , the first speaker from our team stated that

_________________________________________________________________________
The second argument of my team is junk food can cause tooth decay. Tooth decay can happen in any stage of life ,
starting from adolescent, teenage, adult or even elderly. The reason for this is junk food. Candy and confectionery
contain very soluble sugars and nutrients that are immediately digested by bacteria. Acids are produced as a result of
this digestion, which then damage the tooth enamel. For your information, people are consuming foods and drinks high
in sugar and starches more often and in larger portions than ever before. Its clear that junk foods and drinks
gradually have replaced nutritious beverages and foods for many people. It is estimated that the average American
teenagers consumes 81 gallons of soft drinks each year.
From my simple research in the internet, the National Institute Of Dental And Chraniofacial research official webpage
stated that during the early 1970s, 90.4% of kids had dental cavities. They had an average of 6.2 cavities a piece! 92%
of adults are having this problem too and did you know approximately 5% of adults age 20 to 64 have no teeth .
Without wasting any time, I would like to present our third argument that is junk food can also cause cardiovascular
problems without age limit. A new research by Canadian scientists says junk food causes a third of all heart attacks
and it is diets heavy in fried foods, salty snacks and meat which are the culprits.
Oxycholesterol, is mostly found in fried and processed food and take-aways. Oxycholesterol can be formed when foods
such as burgers and steaks are fried or grilled, causing their fats to react with oxygen . The new research indicates that
eating foods high in the substance gives an extra boost to blood cholesterol levels and is more likely to damage arteries
than ordinary cholesterol. Most cholesterol health warnings involve low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or "bad" cholesterol,
which helps form hard deposits in the arteries called atherosclerotic plaques. Based on European society of cardiology
webpage each year cardiovascular disease (CVD) causes over 4 million deaths in Europe and 1.9 million deaths in the
European Union . The percentage of children aged 611 years in the United States who were obese increased from 7%
in 1980 to nearly 18% in 2010. Similarly, the percentage of adolescents aged 1219 years who were obese increased
from 5% to 18% over the same period because of eating too much junk food . In fact, someone in America dies every 37
seconds from some form of cardiovascular disease. Fewer than 3% of children in the United States have high blood
pressure. But high blood pressure is a serious condition in childhood, especially if it is not detected. On the other hand,
eventhough only less than 15% of children have high cholesterol level . It seems like its a small percent but the truth is
it will leading to the serious cardio problems in the future. Thats the truth .
So, ladies and gentlemen . Before I take my seat , allow me to make a conclusion , reaffirm , and clearly right in
saying that junk food can cause tooth decay, cardio problems and *point sidiq* . We,the government are strongly stand
that junk food is the main cause of health problems . They killed 7,000 people a year but transfat wont be banned .
With that , thank you .

third speaker
_____________________________________________________________

Assalamualaikum wbt and a very good afternoon to the respected speaker, time keeper, members of the opposition
team, honourable judges, ladies and gentlemen. I am the third speaker of government team is given a duty to rebut the
arguments .Before that, Our team strongly agree ona simple premis that junk food is the main cause of health
problems. I repeat junk food is the main cause of health problems !
The first and second speaker of the opposition team said that
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________________________ Okay, ladies and gentlemen please take a look at
our motion today . The motion of todays debate is THIS HOUSE BELIEVES THAT JUNK FOOD IS THE MAIN CAUSE OF

HEALTH PROBLEMS . What *opposition point* got to do with todays debate motion? I disagree with those points
because

Okey . Nowadays people who have the busy lives in big cities begin eating more fast food since it is convenient and
fast. The most popular fast food usually comes from western countries such as pizzas, hamburgers, French fries, fried
chicken, and doughnuts.Lots of people enjoy eating fast food daily, but they might have never realized about its bad
effects to their health.
Today,Im standing on three simple keywords which is obesity, cancer and cardiovascular problems . I just want to add
some facts and reemphasize my first and second speakers points. So, based on ZeeNews Dot Com Official Page , it is
stated that in New Delhi after the shocking disclosure of presence of toxins in widely consumed soft drinks, a study
done by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) on junk food and nutrition has disclosed that most of the junk
foods contain very high levels of trans fats, salts and sugar . One of the instant noodles companies claims there is zero
trans fats in every 100 gram the CSE study found 0.7 gram trans fat contained per 100 gram. And one of a snack
companies recorded high increase of selling till February 2012 through huge advertisements saying that their chips are
healthy because they have zero trans fats and are cooked in healthy oil this claim was quietly removed later. When
CSE checked, it found as much as 3.7 gram of trans fats contained per 100 gram of the product in March 2012 batch
which is a dangerously high dose !
What makes junk food so unhealthy are the high levels of salt, sugar, fats and carbohydrates in them. Noncommunicable diseases such as obesity and diabetes accounted for more than 50 per cent of all deaths in India in 2005;
by 2030, they will kill two-thirds of all Indians. Trans fats are notorious for clogging arteries. On top of that, when one
has large amounts of salt, the blood pressure increases. The heart has to work overtime to push the blood around,
which weakens it considerably. Thats why most people who are aware about this called junk food as a silent killer
.Chandra Bhushan said, And there is enough global evidence to suggest that more and more young people are
succumbing to problems of the heart at a much earlier age. At an age when they should have been at their productive
best but they are loosing productive life by eating this junk.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Next, under the keyword cancer I would like to share some informations on junk food can cause cancer . Carcinogens
are chemicals that can produce cancer in human. Some carcinogens that can be found in fast
food is Acrylamide . According to new laboratory testscommissioned by the Center for Science in the Public Interest
(CSPI), popular American fast foods contain high level of acrylamide that can cause several cancers. Acrylamide is
normally found in starchy foods cooked during high temperature boiling or frying such as French fries, potato chips,
and fried chicken based on the article carcinogens in French fries in 2002, para3 . CSPI tested the amount of
acrylamide in food, micrograms per serving, and it showed that a large size of French fries contains 39 to 72
micrograms, which is the highest level of acrylamide among the other foods. From my research, apart from French
fries, another high level of acrylamide has been found in potato wedges as well based on theNew Tests Confirm
Acrylamide in American Foods, 2002, para. 1 4.
Last but not least, junk food can cause cardiovascular problems. University of Minnesota School of Public Health
researchers have examined the eating habits of residents in Singapore and found new evidence that a diet heavy in fast
food increases the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes and coronary heart disease. The latest research, published online
today by the American Heart Associations journal Circulation, found that people who consume fast food even once a
week increase their risk of dying from coronary heart disease by 20 percent in comparison to people who avoid fast
food. For people eating fast food two-three times each week, the risk increases by 50 percent, and the risk climbs to
nearly 80 percent for people who consume fast food items four or more times each week.Eating fast food two or more
times a week was also found to increase the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by 27 percent.
Beloved audience,

Before rest my case, As we know Food is something everyone needs, every day. I would like to reemphasizes
thateveryone will eat junk food no matter how much it is. However, as I said earlier we know that junk food can cause
many health problems . I repeat junk food can cause many health problems. With that thank you .
