CALL FOR PAPERS

The Journal Ciencia & Tropico, edited by Joaquim Nabuco Foundation
(Ministry of Education), has a history of interdisciplinary publications
specialized in Social Sciences, Science and Technology and Humanities. The
main goal of the periodic is to promote the debate and the knowledge
circulation in several areas, disseminating, in both national and international
degrees, essays, research studies, evaluations, and comparative studies among
countries.

Released by the sociologist Gilberto Freyre in 1973, the Journal Ciencia

& Tropico is inserted in the field of interdisciplinary studies related to the
Tropics.
Currently, the Journals editorial board is composed by professionals from
institutions of excellence in Brazil and other countries. All papers are
submitted to an evaluation process and the editors take the responsibility
sending a final decision to the authors in a span of time of 90 days.
Publications in Portuguese, English and Spanish are accepted. The paper must

Registrations are necessary in order for submitting articles online through the

EDITORIAL RULES

1. Features
The Journal Ciencia & Tropico is a biannual publication, interdisciplinary,
which publishes specialized subjects in social sciences, science and technology
and humanities.

2. Content and Contributions

The editor will submit to the Editorial Board unpublished contributions in
Portuguese, Spanish and English.
3. Form and Standard
Submissions must be delivered in Word, tables and graphs in Excel, typed with
1.5 spacing; Time New Roman font, size 12, with up to 25 pages (A4), with 3
cm and 4 cm margins.
Each paper must contain an abstract in the language in which it was written and
in English, with 200 words maximum, with at least three keywords.
Figures, tables, illustrations, must be signalized in the body of the text and
attached in different file during the submission, with subtitles, authorship
and/or font, digitalized in 300 dpi, .JPG format.
The authors must present, after the titles article, a short curriculum, informing
authors qualification e the institution in which the author belongs to.
5. References
All papers must follow the rules of ABNT (NBR 6022), indicated for
publications of papers in scientific journals in Brazil. For citations, the authordate system is used, as it is shown in the example: (CARVALHO, 2007, p. 25).
Notes and Comments should be on the bottom of the pages in which they
appear, according to the sequential numbering.

4. Authors and Rights

The authors of the papers must submit, in addition to the full name, address,
phone number and e-mail, their professional credentials (academic training,
professional area, as a research institution, university, etc.).
All opinion expressed in the papers are of exclusive responsibility of its
authors.
