ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Even a mirage is helpful in guiding or motivating a thirsty person in his search of

oasis in a desert. I believe that however strongly a person claims about the success of project due
to his or her own soul effort, there has always been a guiding factor involved, which has in some
way or other helped them to reach their goals. Written words have an unfortunate tendency to
degenerate genuine gratitude into stilted formality. However, I feel that this is the only way to
record permanently ones gratitude.

I take this prospect to express my profound sense of gratitude to Department of

Law, University of Mumbai, for giving me the opportunity to undertake this project.
I would like to thank my project guide, benevolent Dr. S.V.Mundhe for his
valuable guidance and support at all the levels and also for the help in glorified finishing for the
project.
My sincere thanks to my classmates for their support and encouragement
throughout this journey.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:-

The Primary Objective of the Plan is to secure the best environmental management of all
waste including preventing and minimizing the generation of waste wherever practicable.

To promote waste reduction, recycling and reuse and recovery; and create public
awareness on the waste and recycling industry as well as environmental and industry
concerns. Including action to reduce the amount of waste generated by households,
industry and government.

There is need to move practices from land disposal and to promote prevention, preparing
for reuse, recycling, other recovery and disposal.

To ensure the protection of the environment through effective recycling of waste.

Increase reuse and recycling rates and products.

Encourage waste to energy options.

Ensure the design and manufacture of product that avoid or minimize waste
generation.

Reduce the percentage of recyclable material to landfill.
