FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES, DELHI

PLACEMENTS 2015

Placement Conveners Message

It gives us immense pleasure to communicate that our Final Placement Process has
been successfully completed. This year we witnessed more enthusiastic participation
from the corporate world in the talent pool nurtured by FMS Delhi. This year saw
greater participation from fast growing, emerging businesses. Our average salary for
the batch also went up significantly. This stands testimony to the quality of students
who graduate from the Faculty of Management Studies and the relevance of its
curriculum to the needs of the world of business.
This process was facilitated by the availability of a diverse pool of students for the
variety of profiles offered by the companies across different domains. The students as
well as the companies had the opportunity to meet mutual aspirations and
expectations.
This year also witnesses a positive shift in the process of Placements. Before the onset
of the Final Placement Process, the aspirants were made to give their preferences for
the companies and the profiles that they were aspiring for. This was then matched with
the preference given by the companies after they had made offers to the candidates.
This process was carried out to achieve the best fit between student and job, which
would be advantageous to both parties in the long run. It also helped the team to
maintain a high degree of transparency in the process. We are indeed very upbeat
about the positive feedback and reaction we have received from corporate leaders to
the campus. We hope this relationship continues for years to come.
The entire process has been successful because of the effort and dedication of all the
stakeholders involved in it. This gives us an opportunity to extend a heartfelt gratitude
to all the recruiters who exhibited immense faith in the skills and aptitudes of the
students of FMS Delhi . We would also like to express our thanks to our fellow faculty
members, students and the illustrious alumni who have been a great source of support
and encouragement in the smooth conduct of the Placement Process. Last, but not
the least, we extend a word of gratitude to our Dean, Prof. M. L. Singla, for being a
pillar of strength to all of us.

PLACEMENT REPORT
Introduction
Celebrating 60 glorious years of its inception, Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi
witnessed yet another year of exceptional placements both in terms of the
compensation and the profiles on offer. The successful conclusion of the recruitment
cycle bears testimony to the exceptional student quality and the faith recruiters have
reposed in the placement process.
Placement Process
The placements were conducted in two phases with the first one (Lateral Placements)
being for students having prior work experience of more than 18 months and the
second phase (Final Placements) for students with lesser/no work experience.
To ensure a smooth and transparent process for both the recruiters and the students
two important measures were put in place. First, the students undertook a Company
Slotting exercise to decide on the order in which the companies should visit the
campus for recruitment. Second, a scheduling algorithm was devised keeping in mind
preferences of both the students and the recruiters and the same was used for the first
time during the Final Placement process.
