Updating Ubuntu Repository

The lists above should be inserted into source list file in /etc/apt/sources.list. Heres
how.
First, make a backup of the existing source list in case we will need it in the future. Open terminal
by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T and enter the following command.

$ sudo cp /etc/apt/source.list /etc/apt/sources.list.bak

Next, edit the source list file using your favourite text editor. Im happy enough to use Nano, the
console-based text editor, to do simple text editing when Im in terminal. Open the source
$ sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

and erase everything by pressing and holding Ctrl+K. This will delete the content one line at a
time.
Now choose one of the repository above, and paste the source list into the text editor. You can paste
texts in terminal by using Ctrl+Shift+Insert. Once done, close the file by pressing Ctrl+X, press Y
to save modified file, and enter to confirm.
Now you need to update your repository and upgrade any available packages by using this
command
$ sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

Press Y and hit enter when prompted.
