NDP Misleading the Public and Causing Unnecessary Panic

The Opposition NDP have been caught misrepresenting the facts and misleading the
public on a number occasions but it would appear they havent learned their lesson. The
NDP practice of playing fast and loose with the facts continues, particularly in Five
Hills Health Region.
There are several recent examples of how the Opposition has presented the public with
half-truth, innuendo or outright fabrication of facts, including:

Cutting beds and overcapacity on the Medicine Unit at Moose Jaw Union
Hospital the NDP tweeted this misinformation on April 16th; the fact remains
that the old Moose Jaw hospital currently operates below capacity.

JBA Consulting having influence over the number of beds in the new Moose Jaw
Hospital the number of beds were determined well in advance of JBA input on
the improved design and layout of the new hospital, yet the NDP pushed this
inaccuracy in the Legislature on March 11th.

Cutting staff as Five Hills Health transitions to the new Moose Jaw Hospital
staffing levels have remained consistent over the three years of design and
building the new hospital. April 16th was a particularly busy day for NDP fiction.

The use of timeout rooms during hospital planning events there are no such
rooms; on April 11th the NDP deliberately misled people on this point.

Kicking seniors out of low-income housing to make room for administrative

offices no one is being asked to move out of their homes, nor is this space being
used for administration purposes while it is transitioned to provide broader
services for residents and the community. The NDP kicked off the New Year with
this misinformation in a news release on January 5th.

That a senior at Providence Place who left the building had dementia the NDP
may have breached the spirit of privacy laws on April 10th by informing the media
of a medical condition of a resident even though this resident has never been
diagnosed with dementia and was in fact simply out for a walk.

This is a disturbing but not a surprising practice from the NDP said Greg Lawrence,
MLA for Moose Jaw Wakamow. We saw earlier this month that the NDP Deputy
Leader had to withdraw remarks he made in the Legislature and apologize for spreading
misinformation.
On April 14 Trent Wotherspoon, Deputy Leader of the NDP, had to stand in the
Legislature and publicly admit that he deliberately misled voters with false statements.
Weve seen an appalling lack of leadership from that side of the Legislature Lawrence
added. Whether the NDP leader is ordering his Members to misrepresent the facts, or
is simply unable to control his party, we dont know.
The fact remains that this is the same old NDP willing to say anything to get attention,
even if it means spreading misinformation and hurting their own credibility in the
process. Lawrence said.
This is the same NDP that was caught splicing together audio clips of the Premier in the
last election. The voters sent them a message, reducing them to nine seats in the
Legislature, and their ongoing practice of misrepresenting the facts tells us they havent
listened to voters or learned their lesson.
