Example;
This Saturday was not going to be a normal Saturday in the De Silva household. The day before, the
family decided that father and son would swap duties with mother and the two girls. Everyone was looking
forward to this.
Before long, Mother, Samantha and Sheila had put on their shorts, hats and their long-sleeved shirts to
shelter them from the evening sun. They carried a hoe, a spade and other gardening tools and went to the spot
where they wanted to build a fish pond. Soon they were busy digging a hole. Then they laid some waterproof
material in it, to form the base of the pond. Before filing it up with water, they decorated the spot with some
rocks and plants which they bought from the nursery. It was hard but rewarding work.
Father and Stanley were not lazing around. They put on a borrowed apron each and started work in the
kitchen. Father washed and cut a chicken. Stanley did the same with some vegetables. Before long, Father was
ready to cook the chicken and the vegetables. Stanley cooked the rice. Delicious smells filled the kitchen and
both Father and Stanley were pleased with the results of their hard work.
All of them cleaned up and showered before dinner time. Dinner, which was delicious, was served and
eaten out in the garden, just beside the new fish pond. They believed dinner was made even more enjoyable as
they relaxed, enjoyed each others company and admired the results of their labour.

Example;
Holidays are times to have fun and to relax. It is also a chance to spend time with our families. This is
important to maintain good family relationships. Holidays offer a break from our normal routines. After a
holiday, we will be better able to handle our usual daily routines.
There are many advantages to holidaying in Malaysia. The most obvious one is that we would save
time and money. If we are lucky, we would be able to have the chance to go for more local holidays, rather
than only one expensive overseas holiday! We can travel to places in Malaysia during weekends or public
holidays. It is not possible to travel overseas or to other countries in the same period of time.
Malaysia is blessed with natural and interesting holiday sites. If you like the beach, there are many
excellent beaches, like those in Teluk Chempedak and Batu Ferringhi. There are holiday destinations to cater
to different requirements. Cool and refreshing highland spots are only one or two hours drive from Kuala
Lumpur. The more adventurous may try white water rafting or jungle trekking. There are unspoiled holiday
spots for nature lovers too.
There are many holiday accommodation options to suit every budget. High-class hotels boast of good
locations and superb service and comfort. These are good choices if you want to pamper yourself in luxury.
There are also many mid-range and budget hotels, chalets or rest houses available. All of these employ many
Malaysians. By holidaying in the country you are directly supporting our economy.
Make your next holiday a local one. It is smart to do so!
