DROPS BABY 2008/09, PATTERNS ON THE INTERNET!


Finally the new patterns for DROPS Baby are being uploaded! We'll daily upload the patterns as they are being proof
read and translated. The patterns are chosen based mainly on the voting results and all your comments. You will see
that our new baby-collection is big on numbers and features a great variety of designs. You'll find the cutest babies in
everything from basic garments like trousers and jackets to ponchos and dresses. There are also a lot of accessories
such as blankets, hats, socks, mittens and comforters. The colors range from white and light pastels to strong, vibrant
colors, the latter represented mainly by Fabel.

Knitting tension: 14 sts x 19 rows on needles size 7 mm with Symphony in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm

Garter sts back and forth: Knit on all rows


Increasing tips: Inc. inside 4 front band sts as follows: Make a yo, on the following row twist and knit the yo (To
twist, knit into back of st instead of the front of st).
Decreasing tips (apply for the neck shaping):
All dec are done from the RS!
Dec as follows after 4 garter sts: K2 sts twisted tog.
Dec as follows before 4 sts of garter sts: K2 tog.
Back and front pieces: Knit piece back and forth on circular needles from mid front. Cast on 50-52-55-58-60 sts (incl.
1 edge st each side) on circular needles size 7 mm with Symphony. Knit 4 rows of garter sts and then continue in
stocking sts. When the piece measures 4 cm cast off 1 st each side on every 5th cm a total of 2-2-2-3-3 times = 46-4851-52-54 sts. When the piece measures 21-23-25-27-28 cm cast on loosely new sts on every other row each side for
the sleeves (i.e. at the end of each row): 2 sts 2-2-2-2-4 times, 3 sts 3-2-3-1-0 times, 4 sts 1-3-3-5-5 times and 6 sts 1
time = 92-104-113-118-122 sts. Knit the 4 outer most sts each side of the sleeves in garter sts. When the piece
measures 36-39-42-45-48 cm cast off the mid 10-10-11-12-12 sts for the neck = 40-46-50-52-54 sts left for each
shoulder/sleeve. Cast off when the piece measures 38-41-44-47-50 cm.
Left front: Cast on 21-22-23-25-26 sts (incl. 1 st each side and 4 front band sts mid front) on needle size 7 mm with
Symphony. Knit 4 rows of garter sts.
Please read all of the next section before knitting it:
Knit in stocking sts with the 4 front band sts in garter st. At the same time inc. 1 st towards the mid front on every
other row a total of 7-7-8-8-8 times read increasing tips. At the same time when the piece measures 4 cm cast off at
side as done for the back piece. At the same time when the piece measures 20-22-24-26-28 cm dec. 1 st for the vneck towards the mid front on every 2nd row 9-9-10-11-11 times read Decreasing tips And at the same time when
the piece measures 21-23-25-27-28 cm inc. at the sides for sleeves as done for the back piece (remember the 4 outer
most sts on the sleeves are knitted in garter sts). = 40-46-50-52-54 sts left on each shoulder/sleeve. Cast off when the
piece measures 38-41-44-47-50 cm.
Right front piece: Knit as left front piece but reverse.
Assembly: Sew the shoulder/sleeve seams tog. Loosely. Sew the side and the seams underneath the sleeves loosely
tog. inside the edge st.
Crochet edge: Crochet an edge using hook size 3.5 mm with Muskat around all of the cardigan (i.e. down along the
left front, around the bottom edge of the back and front pieces and up along the other front, around the neck and at
the bottom edge of the sleeves)
as follows: 1 dc in the first st, *4 ch, 1 htr in the first ch crochet, 1 dc in the same st, 2 ch, skip over approx. 1 cm and
1 dc in the next ch*, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in the first dc.
Crochet string: Crochet 3 ch (incl of 1 ch to turn with). Turn - 5 dc in the 2nd ch. Now crochet in chs for approx. 50
cm. Turn. Skip 1 ch, 5 dc in the next ch and finish with a sl st. Cut and sew the thread. Pull the string through the
crochet edge - beg. at the point where the dec. starts.
