1.0 - SCOPE
This Procedure describes how to calibrate Millivoltmeters used in ANODE VOLTAGE DISTRIBUTION
MEASUREMENT.

Note:
The millivoltmeter being calibrated is referred to herein as the UUT (Unit Under Test) and STD is
referred to Master or Reference Standard Instrument.
Specifications is carried out in accordance with Manufacturer Manual.

3.0 ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

3.1 Refer to Manufacturer Specification or MPC-CSD.

4.0 PREPARATION
4.1 - Visually inspect the UUT for obvious damage that may affect accuracy and/or operation and
note any observations. Clean the UUT as necessary to avoid cross contamination to yourself or
other instruments.
4.2 - If the UUT is a New Instrument, assign a unique Calibration Control # to the instrument.
4.3 - If the UUT already has an assigned Calibration Control #, inspect the label for integrity. Replace
damaged control labels as needed.
4.4 - Allow STD and UUT to stabilize at (18-22) C for no less than 1 hour.

5.0 PROCEDURE
5.1 Connect a low thermal test leads across the positive and negative input terminals of the STD,
then connect the other end of the thermal test leads to UUT as shown in Figure 1 below.

5.3 Using Table 1, obtains an output from the STD equal to the values in the Nominal column, and
verifies the UUT reads within the limits specified.
5.4 If any step fails, perform the adjustment procedure as per manufacturer recommendation.
5.5 Disconnect the UUT from the STD input terminals. This completes the performance verification
test.

6.0 COMPLETION OF CALIBRATION

6.1 Properly label the instrument, apply void seals as necessary and secure all equipment and
accessories as found or received.
6.2 Notify the instrument owner or department of any discrepancies found.
6.3 Proceed to Certification.
