Howdoteenagersinthisvalleyjugglethemanydemandsandpressuresplacedonthembytheirparents,teachers,
coachesandfriends?Astechnologyevolvesandexpectationsincrease,Iassumethesamelevelofteenanxiety
wouldalsoincrease.DuringmyinteractionswithhighschoolstudentsfromEastVailtoGypsum,Iamconstantly
baffledbythehumilityandgenerosityoftheseimpressionable,youngadults.NatalieMorrissey,asenioratEagle
ValleyHighSchoolisnoexception.

ListeningtoMorrisseyrattleoffherlonglistofaccomplishmentsandawards,onewouldexpecthertobe
distractedbythenextcommitmentduringheroverscheduledday.Onthecontrary,herkinddemeanor,smileand
invitingpersonalityputsothersatease.Anadmirabletrait.Sheisdifficulttoplaceinonespecificsocialclickas
sheofferssuchdepthtoadiversegroupofpeople.SheisanaccomplishedathleteandcompetesonEVHS'strack
&fieldteam(polevault)anddance/cheerteam.Herclassroomhonorsspeaktowardsherimpressiveacademic
achievements:seniorclassCoValedictorian(basedonhighestGPA),aNationalHonorSocietyrecipient,afinalist

appsforsmartphonesarecapableoflinkingyourchildtoeasierwaysofbullyingorbeingbullied,
harassoneanotherorlinkthemtounknownadultsorsexualpredators.

AlloftheseAppsprovidedifferentservices.Forinstance"Poof!"isanappthathidesotherappson
yourphone,atfirstglanceofphonescreenaniconwhichlookslikeahomescreenwilltakeyouto
anotherscreenwithallofthehiddenapps.Snapchat,Tinder,ChatRoulette,andDownareAppsthat
connectyouwithothersandimages/videocanbeshared.Theseareusuallysexualinnature.Whisper,
Omegel,Kik,YikYakandVineallowstheusertopostandleaveanonymousmessagesusuallydirectlycorrelatedwithbullyingorspreadinghurtfully/falserumors.Finally,Voxer
