Delete a service layer trail in the same way as deleting a service trail. But before
deleting a service layer trail, remove the service trails from the service layer trail first.
If you want to delete a SDH trail which is used for a trunk link trail, you need to delete
the trunk link trail first. For details, refer to 7.2.5 Deleting Trunk Link Trail.
Prerequisites
Make sure the SDH trail is not used for any trunk link trail.

To use the trail function to create an EPL service, you can configure the Ethernet
service from the angle of networking, thus simplifying the configuration process.
Prerequisites
Fibers and protection subnet have been created at the network layer.
The Ethernet processing board and the corresponding interface board have been
installed.
Procedure
1. Creating service trail
Step
Action
7-14
Step
Action
Create the lower order path trail (VC12 trail or VC3 trail) (Optional).
The detailed operations are described in 7.1.2 Creating Common
VC12/VC3 Trail or 7.1.3 Creating SNCP VC12/VC3 Trail.
Note:
You can skip this step. When creating a Trunk Link Trail, you can also
create a lower order path trail.
Action
7-15
Step
Action
Set the Source and Sink. Click <Browse> to select the appropriate
VCTRUNK ports.
Note:
1) If you have executed Step 3, you need to select the Bound Timeslot
in addition to the VCTRUNK port.
2) If you have not executed Step 3, you need to select the VCTRUNK
port only.
Set the VCTRUNK port attribute. Click <Port Attribute>, the Port
Attribute Setting dialog box is displayed. Set the port attributes.
Note:
Here you configure the EPL service only, so the value of Port Type is
PE.
7-16
Step
Action
Enter the information about this Trunk Link trail, such as Name, ID
and Remarks.(Optional)
Note:
If you use the default value, skip this step.
10
Action
Set source and sink EPL trail. Select Usage Strategy of source and
sink. Click <Browse> to select appropriate MAC port. If the value of
Usage Strategy is PORT+VLAN, the VLAN ID should be set.
Note:
Usage Strategy has two ways.
1) PORT: To configure transmit EPL service transparently, applied in
point-to-point communication usually. The VLAN ID is not editable.
7-17
Step
Action
Set Trunk Link trail. First, you should select trail strategy of Trunk
Link, following which to perform the next operation.
Strategy 1: Automatically Create Trunk Link.
Here, you need to set the bandwidth of the Trunk Link, click <Next>.
Note:
1) Trunk Link trail strategy lies on the application in practice. Therefore, it
is recommended to create Trunk Link trail first, and then create the
Ethernet trail. In Use Existing Trunk Link, take the default value.
2) Manually Create Trunk Link and Automatically Create Trunk Link
are used for service expansion. In the former one, the source/sink of the
Trunk Link need to be configured manually, but the timeslot can be
allocated as required. In the latter one, the source/sink of the Trunk Link
can be configured automatically, but the timeslot cannot be allocated
flexibly.
