Circle Time Review
This week during circle time we will
continue to review the days of the
week, months of the year, and the
weather. We will also review all of
the in the sea vocabulary from the
previous unit, and continue to
practice introducing ourselves to
each other. I will then introduce all of
the vocabulary for our next unit, in
the rainforest. We will review

book 2 short 'i' sounds (in, pin,
fin, bin, win, ig, fig, wig, big, dig, it,
pit, hit, ix, six, mix). We will focus
on reviewing and use games like
Bingo for listening practice, feed
the puppet and the corners game
for recognition, writing relays, and
the sumo game for reading
practice. It is important for the
students to practice their and
understand the words and sounds
in a variety of ways.
Making the sound for x is usually
difficult so we will focus on this. We
are going to work through the work
book, doing exercises such as
pointing and repeated to sound out
the words, matching rhyming words
and writing out the correct words
under the picture. We are also
going to read a story as a class and
act out the scenes, chanting the
focus words as we go.

Locations: In The Rainforest


Activity Time

This week during activity time we will complete a variety of activities that focus on
developing the students reading, writing, speaking, and identification of new
vocabulary. I will also introduce the words for the spelling test on Monday and we
will have our weekly spelling test on Wednesday.
Songs: We will sing the walking in the jungle song.
Activities: We will colour insect images, decorate butterflies, and make cut out
snakes. Watching videos of the rainforest and naming what we see. Rainforest
hunt- an outdoor activity where students respond to commands and find their way
around the rainforest.
Worksheets: The students will complete the rainforest vowel worksheet, filling in
missing vowels from the new vocabulary.
Games: Duck, duck, goose with the current vocabulary. Snake races game,
monkey chase fruit game, crocodile game, spelling races, bowling.

In the rainforest, I can see Rainforest, ant, bat, butterfly, caterpillar, crocodile,
dragonfly, frog, lizard, monkey, mosquito, mouse, owl, parrot, scorpion, snake,
