Google Hacking Script Commands

Everything is in the Internet. We cant deny that. Thats why Google engine provide lots of
search results making our heads ache and often waste our diamond time by browsing
through the results.

To minimize our desired results, here are some tips from professional hackers.
The Google search engine found at www.google.com offers many different features
including language and document translation, web, image, newsgroups, catalog and news
searches and more. These features offer obvious benefits to even the most uninitiated web
surfer, but these same features allow for far more nefarious possibilities to the most
malicious Internet users including hackers, computer criminals, identity thieves and even
terrorists. The Google Hackers Guide by Johnny Long (http://johnny.ihackstuff.com)
There are a lot of Google hacks. To enumerate, we have the Basic Google Search
Techniques, Google Advanced Operators, and Google Hacking Techniques. But since
Im only to pick my top 15, see it below.

These commands I used are actually called operators or Google Advanced Operators.
Every after an operator is a colon but there should be no space between the colon and the
search term.

1. site:

-This operator allows only results from a specific web site.

>I chose this operator because it makes it easier for me to access results from the
site where Id only want the result to come from. Whenever youre rushing to get
information, it could be very useful because it provides easy access to the site
without the disturbance of thoroughly searching to eliminate other similar sites.

2. filetype:

-This operator instructs Google to give results of a specific file type.

>This is one of the most helpful hacking commands I have encountered. As a
student, I search through a lot of data, information, and articles that I need. Most of
the times I need either a .pdf or .doc type of file but there are only few on the top
result of the engine, thats why this tool became very helpful.
According to my source, the following file type as of this writing can be search
through this command.

Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf)

Adobe PostScript (ps)
Lotus 1-2-3 (wk1, wk2, wk3, wk4, wk5, wki, wks, wku)
Lotus WordPro (lwp)
MacWrite (mw)
Microsoft Excel (xls)
Microsoft PowerPoint (ppt)
Microsoft Word (doc)
Microsoft Works (wks, wps, wdb)
Microsoft Write (wri)
Rich Text Format (rtf)
Text (ans, txt)

3. intitle:

-This operator would look for documents that have the term within its title.
>I like this because its somehow fun. When youre missing something or you cant
remember what is the title of something then you could easily manage to search it
by typing an easy command to Google.

4. allintitle:

-This operator is somehow the same as to the title: operator but it has a subsequent
word or another word or two words or more rather, that would only search through
the title of a document.
>Its an easy way of browsing something or bit of things youve forgotten.

5. inurl:

-This operator allows you to search for a term thats in the URL.
>For easy access or search for urls that is similar to you or for something you need
that has the keyword in the URL, then this command fits.

6. allinurl:

-This operator is somehow the same with inurl: but likewise the allintitle: it includes a
subsequent word.
>Its very helpful and less time consuming if you know what youre looking for yet
you cant find the URL or web site of it.

7. define:

-Dont have a dictionary? For easy search of what those words means, Google provides
it.
>Well just a dictionary. But could be very helpful at most times because you dont
have to open any more links to access the meaning of something, it pops up first
thing in the result.

8. related:

-This is used when you want web sites of the same category to be on you results.
>When you want something and need to compare. You could just type it to this
command and it will bring you any thing thats related to what you want.

9. +

-As to my reading, when Google receives a basic search request that contains common
word like the, :how, or where, the word is often times removed from the query. So,
in order to include these words in Google search, a plus sign (+) is used at the
beginning of the word.
>Well, if a common word is really special that it cant be removed from the search
then this is probably the best way for Google not to omit that word.

vs.

10. -

-Unlike the plus sign, the negative sign omit the word you want out from the search.
>Kind of technical but if youd explore, you might discover or reveal something out
from the Internet. One command and it changes every result of the page.

vs.

11. The use of

-It only gives specific result from the word youve entered in the search engine.

-If you dont want anything that could pop up in your results thats at least a word
the same from your term then use this technique to give you only the exact result of
what you want.

12. Use of | and Parentheses

-I like to do some reviews everytime and this helps a lot.

-It lets you compare the something you like from other similar category.

13. | vs. OR

-This command (|) gives result of the different things youve type. It doesnt come in
one web site while OR does or compares those things.

-This makes it easier for you. If you want everything in one click then this is it!

vs.

14. -insite:

-If youre so sick of pages that are always the same when youre searching of
something else. Try this command.

-Likewise, if you dont want that site to pop up to your search result, this command
will eliminate it. I like this! Otherwise, without the -, it will only give result from
that site itself.

vs.

15. The use of *

-Very helpful for searches that youd probably forgotten, especially those quotations.

-Since I am not so much into memorizing things, I easily forget them so this
command became very useful to me.
