Introduction for Thattachu Aasaan

The Thattachu Aasaan software is a very simple guide to learn

touch typing. Today, large number of software engineers and the technical
staffs are using only their two fingers while typing. This is because of not
learning the touch typing through a proper course. Time did not permit them
to go to a typing institution to learn the touch typing. Hence they are far
behind, in the matter of using the typewriter keyboard methodically. Thus a
''Thattachu Aasaan'' software has been prepared for the benefit of such
busy personnels.
By using this software, you can learn the basics very quickly,
that is within 6 to10 hours. Also your time will not be wasted. Depending
upon your speed, you can learn the other lessons too. Thus you can master in
the touch typing.
The speciality of this software is that typing exercises are
provided for three different types of keyboard in a single software! You will
also find that the lessons are being taught in duel language (English and
Tamil). The student who wants to practice English typing can choose
English mode and who wants to practice Tamil typing can choose Tamil
mode.

1.Tamil Net 99 (Tamil)
This Tamil Net 99 keyboard is approved by the Tamil Nadu
government. The prime purpose of this software is that all tamil computer
users should learn the very easy method of this keyboard. The
[(O)] method is being taught here.
2.Typewriter (Tamil)
Tamil typing [] method is being taught here.
3.Typewriter (English)

English typing [qwerty] method is being taught here.

Scheme :
By clicking the lesson menu in the scheme or by using (ctrl+L)
you can select and enter into the screen. There you will find exercises where
you can choose your lesson and start the typing course. And from here itself
you can change the required keyboard layout by clicking "change layout"
option. At the end of each drill (word, sentence and paragraph drills), a
report will be displayed. Here WPM(Words Per Minute), accuracy will be
calculated and the level of your progress will be spelled out.

Test :

By clicking the the test lesson menu in the scheme or by using

the (ctrl+T) you can select and enter into the screen. Here you will have the
lessons for your test where you can choose and start your test. Before
beginning your test, you should select the duration. At the end a report will
be displayed. Here WMP(Words Per Minute), accuracy will be calculated
and the level of your progress will be spelled out.

Games:
By clicking the games menu in the scheme or by using (ctrl+G) you can select
and enter into the screen. Here you have two games (Invader, Keyrobics). You can choose
any one of them and start playing.

1. Invader:
The characters will be dropping down as rain drops from above. If you type
the dropping down characters correctly, you will score the points. If you type incorrectly,
the characters will drop down. You will be loosing your chance. As your score increases,
the speed of the characters dropping down will also increase. Thus you can play the game
till you loose 16 such characters.

2. Keyrobics:
The characters which appears on the screen from an unknown
place, will suddenly disappear if you keep on typing those character keys. If
you type it correctly, you will score one point. If you type it incorrectly your
missing count will increase. But on the other hand at the increase of your
score points the speed of the characters disappearing will also increace. You
can play the game till your missing count reaches 25.

Keyboard Layout
You can change the keyboard layout by clicking layout menu.
Green colour indicates the layout selected. When you want to start your
course with tamil typing, Tamil Net 99 will be the default selected layout.
When you want to start with english then english layout will be selected as
default. Also you can use (ctrl+D) to select Tamil Net 99, (ctrl+F) to select
Tamil typewriter and (ctrl+E) to select English typewriter.

Special Lessons
In the Special Lessons section, Numpad exercises and Special
character exercises are included.
Numpad :
By clicking the special lesson Numpad or by using the (ctrl+N)
you can enter into the Numpad exercise screen. You can select the lesson
there in and start your exercise. Make sure that the numlock light is on

before you start with the Numpad exercise. If the numlock light is off then
you should first press the numlock key. You will find this numlock just
above the num keyboard onto the left corner.

Special characters :
By clicking the Special characters in the Special Lessons scheme or by using the
(ctrl+S) you can enter into the Special Character exercise screen. You can select the lesson
there in and start your exercise.
