Brochure
Description:
A two-sided offset folding brochure.
Programs Used:

Date:

Course/ Instructor:

Brother Judkins
Objective:
To create a brochure using all three of the Adobe products. To promote a project and also
create my own logo to go into the brochure.
Process:
First I thought of what I wanted my brochure to be about. Then I sketched ideas and brochure layouts. I decided to do my brochure on the Tesla Model S and use an offset brochure. Next I picked out images that would look good in my brochure. I used ten images in
my brochure not including the logo I made. I went into Adobe Illustrator and made a logo
for the Tesla motors club. Then I opened Adobe InDesign and set up my offset brochure. I
put the images and logo in my InDesign brochure. For my text wrap image I went into Photoshop and used the magnetic lasso tool to get the part of the image I wanted. Then I used
a feather on it to make the edges blend together so they looked better. Finally I put that image into my brochure in Indesign and made the text wrap around it. Lastly I used word to
write my sub-titles and body copy for my brochure. I then put the text in my brochure with
the images and logo. It all came nicely together using these three Adobe Programs: Adobe
InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.

Objective:
To create a business card with a logo I designed. Help spread the word of the company and
look presentable.
Process:
First I came up with a logo design in Adobe Illustrator. Next I copied that logo into Adobe InDesign. Then I made the business card 3.5inx2in. Once I did that I thought of what
would make my business card stand out from other companies. I decided to make the business card front and back, so the information looks better and not as crowded on the card. I
made the front the same color but without the blueprint design. I put the logo in the middle. The back I put my information and logo. I decided to put a blueprint for a house on the
back because its Arrow Housing. I made sure to put everything that a business card needs
on the card. I placed everything nicely so it wouldnt look crowded on the card.

Objective:
To create a business letterhead with a logo I designed. Letterheads look presentable and
should go with your company deisgn.
Process:
First I came up with a logo design in Adobe Illustrator. Next I copied that logo into Adobe
InDesign. I started on the letterhead after I figured out the logo design. The letterhead has a
blueprint background with the logo. Then I added information to the letterhead and media
information. I placed everything so it looked nicely on the letterhead.

Logos

Objective:
To create a logo used for a business. This logo looks sleek and draws people to my business.
Process:
First I thought of logo ideas. Then I made three different logos with one of the designs I
chose. From those three I chose one and did three different themes on that same logo idea.
I learned how to use the pen tool. The font I used helped bring my logo together. I used
the triangles on the end of the font to make it look like an arrow. I made the A and H have
arrows on them for Arrow Housing. Then I used a different font to say what the logo letters
stood for. Arrow housing is a smaller font. All together the design came out to a nice logo.

Montage
Description:
An inspiration montage where I blended together three images to make it look like the
images went together.
Programs Used:
Adobe Photoshop

Objective:
I wanted to show that we need to do more temple work. Souls have been waiting for years
for their work to be done. We can get caught up with life and we often forget to do the work
of others.Hence why I used the Forget-me-nots and this topic was part of one of Uchtdorf s
talks.
Process:
First I brainstormed ideas and looked up images that could work together. Once I found
my background image I cropped it to 8.511. Next I added the Forget-me-nots into the
background image. The I applied a mask to it and played with the opacity. I used the black
paint and 100% opacity to get rid of the hard edges on the Forget-me-not picture. Then I
took the black paint down to a lower opacity of 25% to take away some of the picture. It
made the Forget-me-nots look hazy over the temple and thats the effect I was going for.
Then I added in the hands reaching for each other and I repeated the steps for this image.
I dragged this image into the background image. I placed the hands where I thought they
would blend the best. I used the black paint and 100% opacity to help the image to blend
better. The image was very bright so I had to darken it by using a 40% opacity. This helped
me to control what was being hidden and to darken certain areas more than others. Next
I found a quote I wanted to use. I put the text on the background image. I made sure to
have two different fonts and change the font sizes, so some words stick out more than other
words. The words were hard to read so I added a drop shadow behind them. This process
was done in Adobe Photoshop.

Objective:
To learn how to take photos and edit them using photoshop.
Process:
I first took all my photos then choose one that I wanted to use. From that image I picked
a color scheme from Sister Esplins color wheel. Next I came up with the quote that would
work best with my image. From there I put it all together to make an appealing design.

Objective:
A webpage for Arrow Housing to tell others what process I went through to make this logo
using HTML and CSS in Notepad
Process:
First I followed the HTML code in Notepad and added information for my webpage. I
inserted my logo into the HTML file. I followed the coding instructions and filled in what
information I wanted my webpage to display. Next using CSS in Notepad I changed the
typography for the website. I put in a background image that went well with my logo. I
changed the font colors to match the color scheme better. I played around with CSS to figure out what would look best for my webpage.

Flier
Description:
Black and white promotional flier for the Graduate Leadership Conference.
Programs Used:
Adobe InDesign
Date:

Course/ Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 6
Brother Judkins
Objective:
I am trying to inform recent graduates about this conference that will give them the competitive edge in business. They will gain real experience working with Vouant Communications to learn essential leadership skills in the workplace
Process:
I first sketched out some ideas for this flier. Then using Adobe InDesign I created one of my
sketches into a flier. I used boxes in my design for repetition and to give my flier great flow.
I emphasized one word in my title to create more of a contrast. The body copy I kept bigger
so I could capture my audiences eye. The contrast in the text box was to draw people in to
the information about the graduate leadership conference. I left white space to give flow
throughout the design and also contrast. I was given the image, logo, and content for this
flier.
