Award Winners
Directed By Susan Doell, Assisted By Margot McCann

On June 8th Playmakers took an excerpt of Flamingo Court, the segment

titled Harry to the Northwest Regional Octafest in Montpelier, Ohio. The
audience adored Harry, played by Harry Stenzel, and his antics trying to
keep his daughter Charity, played by Dottie Knowles, from getting his
money after he is gone. Reluctantly supporting him in this effort was Mark
Segal, played by Dan Jadwisiak. Other supporting characters were Walter
Pipick, played by David Blankenbecker and the hooker, Chi Chi la Boo Boo,
played by Brenda Hensley.

Book by Anthony Drewe Music by George Stiles Lyrics by Anthony Drewe

Based on Hans Christian Andersons The Ugly Duckling

HONK is a large cast family musical for adults and children, played by
adults and children, with wonderful music and a story that relates to our
time and says Its okay to be different.
Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and
sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this
out, despite his mother's protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about
himself, the little fowl finds himself on adventure of self discovery all
the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way
Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being
different is not a bad thing .

Playmakers Presents Our 69th Season

A Season of Heart-warming & Hilarious Happenings!
Book by Anthony Drewe Music by George Stiles Lyrics by Anthony Drewe

By Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom

Based on the book by Mitch Albom
Tuesdays with Morrie is the driven solely by his career, and Morrie
Schwartz, his former college professor. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch
happens to catch Morrie's appearance on a television news program and learns
that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig's Disease. Mitch is reunited with
Morrie, and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a
last class in the meaning of life.

By Frances Goodrich & Albert Hackett

Newly Adapted by Wendy Kesselman
In this transcendently powerful new adaptation by Wendy Kesselman, Anne
Frank merges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl, who
confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her time with
astonishing honest, wit, and determination. An impassioned drama about the
lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic, The
Diary of Anne Frank captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief.

Faith County

By Mark Landon Smith

Faith County is the prequel to Faith County II: An Evening of Culture
by
Playmakers in January, 2009. You will recognize those charming characters
from The Mineola Cultural Society who gave an unforgettable performance
of Romeo and Juliet.
Somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the south, there's a place where the
bee-hive hairdo is still the rage and Saturday nights are reserved for the tractor
pull in nearby Pickler. A colorful collection of good ole' country folk gather
'round for this year's county fair, and there's stiff competition in the arts and
crafts category.
