During In-person counselling all the candidates who have applied and qualified as per eligibility
shall be considered and admissions shall be made as per merit.
Important:
1. The vacant seats of reserved categories will be converted to General category on pro-rata basis
before the start of counselling for General category.
2. The following candidates who have applied in time and fulfilling the eligibility can attend the
counselling:
The candidates who have already paid the fee and allotted discipline during online
counseling but want further up gradation of branch. Their documentation check and
hostel allocation will be done.
Further, the candidates who have withdrawn and who have not been offered branch so
far can also attend. Such candidates are required to bring total fee and original
documents.
Instructions for BE/BTech In-person Counselling
1. Personal presence of the candidate/authorised representative during counselling/admission is
essential for all eligible candidates seeking upgradation/admission.

2. A candidate desirous of seeking admission against the available seats will bring the original
certificates on the scheduled date of counselling/admission.
3. The allotment of discipline at the time of counseling/admission will be made on the basis of the
seats available in a particular discipline and category at that instance of time, the order of
preferences for various disciplines given by the candidate, and his/her merit according to JEE
(Main) score. The candidates appearing for the counselling shall have the option of either
retaining the preference order given during the first counselling or can submit fresh preference
order in the subsequent counselling(s).
4. Candidate who either does not seek admission on a particular date as per counselling/ Admission
Schedule or fails to attend the counselling or has been admitted in the previous counsellings will
also be eligible for admission on the subsequent round(s) of admission as per
Counselling/Admission Schedule. However, the allotment of discipline to such a candidate will be
made subject to the availability of seat(s) in a particular discipline at that instance of time, the
order of preference for various disciplines given by the candidate and his/her merit according to
JEE (Main) score. The previously admitted students while appearing in subsequent rounds of
counselling(s) for branch upgradation shall not be required to deposit any extra fee.
5. A candidate who reports late for admission during counselling will not be eligible for the discipline
according to his/her original merit position but will be offered a seat in the discipline where the
seats are available at that instance of time/day.
6. If a candidate is offered admission and he/she does not deposit the prescribed fees and original
certificate immediately after selection, the offer so made shall be treated as cancelled and the
seat will be offered to the candidate next in order of merit. No correspondence or appeal in this
regard will be entertained.
FEE TO BE PAID: Fee payable at the time of Admission (Excluding Hostel Fee): Rs. 1,30,400/- (Admission
Fee + Semester Fee). Fee can be paid either in cash or in the form of DD in favour of Thapar University,
Patiala payable at Patiala.
The students who have taken admission in BE in Computer Engineering (Honours in Machine Learning
and Data Analytics) and Computer Engineering (Honours in Computer Animation and Gaming) will
have to pay additional Rs 10,000/- per semester.
Students who have already paid above mentioned fee (Admission Fee + Semester Fee) are required to
bring Hostel Fee and Mess Dues only.
HOSTEL FEE: Hostel will be allocated on the payment of charges mentioned in table below:

Manager towards Mess Dues as detailed below:
