MARCH 2015

INTRODUCTION

As a college student, undergoing an on-the-job training is one of the most

important and exciting part of the course. This is to prepare ourselves for future
employment as we face new chapter on our lives as a productive individual.

This training guided me on how to deal with my chosen career. Each day as
I undergo training, I always think for what I will gain from this. As time goes by, I
realize that this training will be my teacher for some lessons that I did not learned
from my school as what the saying says that experience is the best teacher.

The training enabled me to enhance my knowledge and apply my abilities

in using microcomputer and with regards to the course of Computer Science. It
include on how I work as an office employee/trainee and how to deal with other
employees.

It is not enough to say that you are a good employee/trainee. For me, it will
be measured through the finished tasks. The efforts and commitments to work are
one of the most important things to prove your performance as an
employee/trainee. I can say that I lend good performances while I am at my
training.

As an employee/trainee, duties and responsibilities arise. It starts from

waking up early up to the employees daily routines. And of course, adjustment to
new environment and familiarization to ones work is a must for a good
relationship inside and outside the company premises.

This training was a great challenge for us. It is not just only an activity to
do outside our institution. An intimate self confidence and discipline is needed to
cope up with other employees and to make assigned tasks to be done.

It is good to lend the best from what you have learned but it is not enough
to only apply it, instead you must share your knowledge with other employees and
must learn from them in return.

During my time of my training, I have learned more about the company that
allowed me to do my training. I discovered that the company has resources and
employees that fit to what the companys objectives, missions, visions and overall
operations.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

14

ORIENTATION

15

I started my training on the 24th day of November, 2014. At the first day of
my training, I spent lot of time in familiarizing the activities and operations inside
and outside the office. Office hours start at 8:00 in the morning and ends at 5:00 in
the afternoon. Standard time rate falls on 8 hours per day. I am already advised
about some overtime due to jobs and meetings that are urgently needed.

I was interviewed by Mrs Lani Supervisor of Bureau of Internal Revenue Rocka

Complex Plaridel, Bulacan about what should be my objectives in undergoing the
training. I told her that the training is should be about Computer Science or Office
Management and anything using computers.

16

During the first day of my training, I also introduced by Mr. Francis Tamor
to the staff of the company. She told them that I am going to have training in their
company and if there are some paper works and computer works that they need to
do, just go to the Budget office and leave the instructions to me.

I was also introduced to different forms that are commonly used in the operations
of company. Mr. Francis(Assistant of Mrs.Lani) showed me the files where those
forms should be found.

17

EVALUATION

18

Evaluation is a process to determine the relevance, effectiveness, and

impact of activities in light of their objectives. In evaluating an extension training
programme, one needs to consider that most training activities exist in a larger
context of projects, programmes, and plans. Training evaluation define as a
systematic process of collecting information for and about a training activity
which can then be use for guiding decision making and for assessing the relevance
and effectiveness of various training components.

There are four suggested criteria to evaluate training programmes: reaction,

learning, behavior, and results. Each criterion is used to measure the different
aspects of a training programme. Reaction measures how the trainees liked the
programme in terms of content, methods, duration, trainers, facilities, and
management. Learning measures the trainees skills and knowledge which they
were able to absorb at the time of training. Behavior is concerned with the extent
to which the trainees were able to apply their knowledge to real field situations.

19

Results are concerned with the tangible impact of the training programme on
individuals, their job environment, or the organization as a whole.

On the basis of the time dimension, evaluation may be classified as (1) formative
evaluation and (2) summative evaluation. Formative evaluation involves the
collection of relevant and useful data while the training programme is being
conducted. This information can identify the drawbacks and unintended outcomes
and is helpful in revising the plan and structure of training programme to suit the
needs of the situation. Summative evaluation is done at the end of the programme
and makes an overall assessment of its effectiveness in relation to achieving the
objectives and goals.

20

Evaluation for planning provides information with which planning

decisions are made. Training contents and procedures (methods and materials) are
usually planned at this stage in order to choose or guide the development of
instructional aids and strategies. Process evaluation is conducted to detect or
predict defects in the procedural design of a training activity during the
implementation phase. Through this process the key elements of the training
activities are systematically monitored, problems are identified, and attempts are
made to rectify the mistakes before they become serious. Process evaluation is
periodically conducted throughout the entire period of the programme.

Impact evaluation assesses changes in on-the-job behavior as a result of

training efforts. It provides feedback from the trainees and supervisors about the
outcomes of training. It measures how appropriate the training was in changing the
behavior of participants in real-life situations.

24

OBJECTIVES

25

The objective of On-Job-training (OJT) is directly related to the teaching learning

experiences and should help the student to:

1.

Enhance their knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom in order to become
more responsive to the demands of Information Technology (IT) Profession.

2.

Develop the value of professionalism, love of work and commitment to people

they serve.

3.

Apply the relevant theories of IT Profession and Code of Ethics into practice.

4.

Feel and experience the actual world of work in computerized services.

26

IMPORTANCE
OF
OJT
27

On the job Training are part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient students
about the work and their future career. OJT is very important not only to teach students
their chosen career but to show students the reality about working.

On the Job Training is very important and should not be taken for granted, heres why:
1

Aside from the high evaluation grade that you will receive from the employer, the
employer may absorbed or offer you a job after graduation.

Your background OJT experience is very important when applying a job.

Employers often asked about the OJT experience and how it is related on the job
that you are applying for.

The OJT experience that you have can land you a great job. Especially in Media
related jobs, most employers often asked and require an OJT experience from a
media company. For instance, a news writer who is applying in a TV Network has
great advantage if he/she has an OJT experience in a Media company like TV,
Radio or Publishing.

Your superior in the company that you are working for as an OJT may
recommend your skills to the company affiliates or to other company that he/she
knows.

OJT will be your training ground. If you still have no idea on what is meant to be
a worker, OJT will give you at least 10% of career realities.
28

EXPECTATIONS
OF MY
OJT

29

At first, Im a little bit nervous in my OJT. Because there are many

questions running in my mind like: What if I did something wrong or what if I
cant do well what they are telling me. But after a few days in my OJT, I easily
adopt in my training. I expect that I can apply what Ive learned from my
professors in my school. I know that is the purpose of my OJT. To apply what the
students learned in the school in their OJTs. And to learn also from the
supervisors that we will encounter in my OJT.

30

CLOSING
MESSAGE

31

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my beloved parents for

giving me another chance to finish my studies, who always support me at
all times, morally and financially. For their helps in much aspect of life and
to all sacrifices they made for me. I know that I am very lucky to have
parents like them. As a return, I study hard to make them proud of me.

Now that I finish my OJT, I know that the next step is my graduation
and I am very excited on it. I know that they were happy that I finished my
college. I would like to thank my professors for teaching us and most
especially to my parents for their support.
