MINDANAO STATE UNIVERSITY

SCHOOL OF GRADUATE STUDIES

GENERAL SANTOS CITY
PROF. ROSALITA T. NUEZ MNSA PhD.
I. Course Title:

BA 201 Organizational Theory

II. Course Credit:

3 Units, 3 lecture hours/week

III. Course Description

A critical study of organization theory from the following

perspectives: social-psychological (the individual and interpersonal
relations), structural (the organization in general and its
subdivisions), and the micro and macro environment (the
organization as player in relation to other organizations, the society
and global community)

IV. Rationale:

An understanding and appreciation of the fundamentals and

dynamics of organizations and its nature, evolution, structure,
models, dimensions, and processes is most significant if
organizations have to survive and be competitive in todays world.
The 21st century had ushered in grand upheavals in the otherwise
placid system with the rapid if not accelerating advances in science
and information technology.
The ability to cope and to make strategic plans to adapt to
the rapid changes requires a good grasp of the warps and woofs of
an organization and understanding about the mechanisms to make
it work effectively and efficiently.
This course in organization theory offers a comprehensive
roadmap to make organizations capable, effective and productive.
