RCL-59

REDUCTION CLEARING AGENT

________________________________________________________________
Application
Additive for reduction clear for polyester and its blended fiber and yarn in disperse dyeing applications.

Chemistry for Performance

Excellent fastness properties

Effective removal of oligomers and un-reacted dyes Better brilliancy, lesser dusting and softer feel
Can be used along with hydro/other reducing agents to eliminate the color of bath Easily soluble in
water
Complete elimination of corrosive hydro-sulphite and caustic in r/c bath
Effective at acidic ph
Does not impair fastness standard
Easy rinse property due to affinity for fiber
Reduces the quantity of sulfur in the effluent
Easy to handle with high shelf life
Better color yield & brilliance
Excellent softness to the fabric because no caustic or minimum
quantity of caustic in the process
Excellent for blended fabrics, especially for polyester/viscose
fabrics
Reduces Total Dissolve solids in effluent during washing

Chemistry for Economics

Eliminates/Reduces the use of Hydro

Reduces consumption of softener
No need to use separate soaping chemical
Effective in low dosage

Operational sequence
1.

After draining the dye liquor give one cold wash and then process for reduction clear.

2.

Dilute RCL-59 in 1:4 ratios with water at room temperature and then add this
diluted solution as per dosage to the bath.

3.

After addition of RCL-59 stock solution run the machine for 5 minutes.

4.

Add the Hydro solution and raise the temperature of the bath to 90C and run for 20 minutes.

5.

Drain the liquor and give one hot wash at 80C for 15 minutes.

6.

Give one cold wash with fresh water and collect the cold wash overflow.

7.

Check the pH of the collected cold was overflow. (It should be neutral i.e. pH 7 and hence
There is no need for Neutralization with glacial acetic acid)

ALTERNATE APPLICATION: (For Dyed polyester fiber/yarn/fabrics and their blends)

1. Plain wash with water after dyeing in closed machines.
2. Reduction clearing with 0.5 g/l RCL-59 and minimum quality of caustic soda at
80C 0 90C for 15 to 30 minutes with proper circulation
3. Drain the liquor.
4. Plain wash with hot water.
5. Plain wash with water if required.
6. Neutralization with acetic acid.
7. Plain wash with water, if required.
8. Soaping and washing is as usual, if required.

WHY RCL-59 SHOULD BE USED:

Washing off Agent:
The important of proper washing after dyeing is painfully known to all dyers, particularly the difficulty in
washing off the unfixed dye in order to meet the required fastness standard. The main functions of soaping
agent are to:
1. Disperse the unfixed substanted hydrolyzed dyes, and solubilise and emulsify these into the aqueous
medium and keep these substances in suspension.
2. Prevent re-deposition of hydrolyzed dyes and other particles of colloidal substance into the textile
material.
3. Removes the alkaline earth metal ions which have already deposited on the dyed material.
4. Prevents the precipitation of insoluble calcium or magnesium salt.
