1.03b--Instructors are expected to follow AI policy when assigning sanctions. Previously the
instructor could provide specific written guidelines for their course that differed from the policy.
2.02--The definition of discovery period has changed from sufficient and reasonable to within
5 school days but no more than 30 calendar days.
2.04a--Level One sanctions are defined as minor assignments which constitute 10% or less of
the total course grade.
2.04c--Vet Med courses have been removed from Level Three violations.
2.04c--Level Three violationsrecommend awarding a grade of F!, dismissal from the
graduate or professional education program, and dismissal from the University when a graduate
student is found responsible for an AI violation while enrolled in a course or completing
academic work, and/or degree program requirements.
2.09--Not all 2nd violations will require a hearing. If a student earns two Level One violations
in two separate courses, there will not be a mandatory hearing.
3.03--After the student files an appeal for an alleged violation, the instructor has 20 days to
complete the AI appeal forms, produce documentation, and schedule a hearing.
3.08--After an AI panel has issued the hearing results, only students may file an appeal.
