2. OBJETIVOS
1) Conocer el mtodo, morse y Williams, y procedimiento para hallar las prdidas
mecnicas en los motores de combustin interna (Perkins y Daihatsu).
2) Obtener conocimiento conceptual de los parmetros de prdidas mecnicas, efectivas
e indicadas en MCI.
3) Verificacin de la teora echa en clase en el laboratorio de MCI.

3. FUNDAMENTO TERICO
3.1.
Parmetros efectivos
La potencia que puede obtenerse en el cigeal del motor se denomina efectiva. La potencia
efectiva (Ne) es menor que la indicada (Ni) en la magnitud que se gasta en las prdidas
mecnicas (Nm), es decir:

La potencia correspondiente a las prdidas mecnicas est constituida por las potencias que
se gastan:

Este mtodo tiene las siguientes caractersticas:
Es de bajo costo.
Es verstil en cuanto al manejo, comparado con los dinammetros.
Determinan torque y potencia con alguna imprecisin al ser evaluados sin carga
alguna (difiere a las producidas por prdidas mecnicas inherentes al motor).
Se deja sin carga estabilizndose la temperatura del motor en un rango entre 82 y
98C.
El mtodo consiste en acelerararhasta llegar a tope del acelerador y medir la aceleracin
angular del motor mediante el tiempo requerido para pasar de un rgimen de giro inferior a
otro superior.
El momento de inercia es necesario estimarlo a partir de motores en buen estado, debido a
que no es conocido de antemano, y generalmente no es suministrado por el fabricante y
medir con exactidtud es muy costoso.
Si se mide la aceleracin del motor se puede calcular las prdidas mecnicas, por lo tanto,
se puede calcular la potencia indicada.
Se establece la hiptesis de que existe una linealidad entre flujo de la mezcla y la presin
media efectiva, teniendo la rpm constante.
Esta hiptesis se aplica a los motores Disel.

3.10. Normativa
El valor de la potencia depende del tipo de norma que se est utilizando, por ejemplo si se
usa la norma DIN, est considerar el motor con todos sus elementos para realizar el clculo
de la potencia, mientras que la norma SAE plantea que el motor debe quedar con lo
indispensable para realizar el clculo de la potencia.

6. CONCLUSIONES
Se logr entender con claridad los mtodos Williams y Morse para hallar las perdidas
mecnicas.
Se comprend la gran importancia y uso de los parmetros especficos, indicativos
que tiene para hallas las prdidas mecnicas.
Se present un caso inesperado (mtodo Williams =donde segn los datos de
laboratorio y lo calculado la perdida mecnica para una

Por perdidas mecnicas se entiende las prdidas originadas por la friccin de las
piezas, el intercambio de gases, el accionamiento de mecanismos auxiliares (bombas
de agua, de aceite, de combustible, ventilador, generador) y el accionamiento del
compresor (soplador).
