Objective(s) for
most/all students

Modification/Accommodations of
Objective ( IF needed)

Assessment:
Students will be assessed by being given a
map that has each continent labeled with a
number. Students will be asked to identify
which continents are which. Students will
have to write a short summary about one of
the continents that they learned.

all students

Modification/Accommodations of
Assessment ( IF needed)
Students will be given a map that is
labeled with numbers for each
continent and they will be able to
identify what each one is by
unscrambling the continents
provided on the bottom of the page.

Initiation
Briefly
describe how
you will
initiate the
lesson by:
1) motivating
learners to
focus on
expectations
for learning
and
behaviors;
2) explaining:
a) what they
will be doing
and learning
in the lesson;
b) how they

Students will take initiative by integrating technology

into their group assignments. By guiding, assisting, and
assessing students will be able to create their own
Padlet pages about their continent. Students will take
initiative in their work by creating a Screencast of their
PowerPoints and uploading it onto their Padlet page.
Students will use their knowledge that they learned in
class to the assessment.

Differentiation

will
demonstrate
learning; and
c) why it is
important.
Lesson
Development
A.
Descr
ibe
sequentially
how you
will:
1) develop
the lesson;
2) model and
guide
practice;
3) engage
students in
learning
experiences
to enable
them to meet
learning
outcome(s);
B. Identify the
instructional
grouping you
will use in
each phase of
instruction
(whole
group, small
group, pairs,
individuals,
etc)
Closure
Briefly discuss
how you will
enable
learners to
demonstrate
both their
learning and
understanding
of the purpose
of the
learning.
Elements of

1. As a class, we will learn about the seven

continents of the world on a map that will be
provided to each student
2. We will label the continents on the map
together
3. Students will be divided up into seven groups
(seven continents)
4. Each group will create a Padlet page where
classmates can discuss their continent
5. Students can use Screencast by Screencasting
their PowerPoints and uploading them to the
Padlet page
6. Students will be assessed on the map of the
world and will need to label each continent
7. After the students have been assessed, as a
class we will create a larger map on poster
paper and label each continent

The closure of this lesson will be when students take an

assessment that requires them to label each continent
on the map with its corresponding number. Students
will write a short summary about one continent that
they learned. As a class we will create a large poster of
the seven continents and label them.
