Model Affected: 206-B1

Unapproved Flap Restraints represented as 206-011-117-003 assemblies which do not meet
Bell Helicopter design requirements and have not been manufactured with FAA approval.
Evaluation of one of these parts by BHTI revealed that the mounting plate hardness was well
below minimum requirements. These unapproved parts may be stamped with Not MFG by
BHT (remove from the service immediately and replaced with approved serviceable
assemblies) and may be accompanied by certificates of conformity.

This is issued to require the removal of unapproved flap restraints assemblies.

Man-hours are based on hand-on-time. Approximately two man-hours will be require if

replacement of the flap restraint is required. No FAA approved and material is required.

Model Affected: 206 Series

Bell Helicopter has recently received a report that 206 B1 Magnetic brake P/N 204-001-376003 adjustable stop screws P/N MS51959-3 had backed out which limited the travel of the arm
assembly. Investigation revealed the stop screws had been installed without the proper adhesive.
These Magnetic Brakes were manufactured by Memcor Truohm inc, under their P/N MP498-3.

Approximately 3.0 man-hours are required to complete this bulletin. Man-hours are based on
hands-on time, and may vary with personnel and facilities available. There is no material
required. But there is some Consumable material required to accomplish this bulletin, but may
not require ordering, depending on the operators consumable material stock levels.

Technical Bulletins:
Bell 206 A/B Series Helicopters
(Tail Rotor Gearbox 206-040-402)
This bulletin provides us the information about model 206A/B series, tail rotor gearbox
assemblies to newer tail rotor gearbox assembly configurations. When the upgrade is completed,
the tail rotor gearbox assemblies can be used on model 206A or 206B helicopters listed in the

Gear Boxes affected block. The engineering design aspects of this Technical Bulletin are
Transport Canada approved. No more manpower is necessary when I do this bulletin during
overhaul. This bulletin be accomplished whenever the tail rotor gearbox assembly is overhauled.

Bell 206 A/B Series

(Transmission Oil Pump 206-040-184-101)
This bulletin is issued to introduce a new transmission oil pump 206-040-184-101. This new oil
pump has improved oil flow capacity that eliminates the transmission oil pressure light flickering
that can be observed on the ground at flight idle on hot days with the transmission oil pump 206040-184-001. The engineering design aspects of this bulletin are TCCA approved. There is no
additional man power are required when pump replacement is accomplished at transmission
overhaul. There are several required and consumable materials are required for the
accomplishment of this bulletin.

Operation Safety Notice

There have been recent incidents where some of the root cause findings are related to ingestion
of snow and ice deposits within the engine inlet plenum causing subsequent flameout conditions
with the engine. We recommend that our operators become familiar with these documents as well
as ensuring that thorough pre-flight inspection procedures, per the published Rotorcraft Flight
Manual are followed to minimize the possible events surrounding snow or ice ingestion into the
engine. It is important to inspect the engine inlet plenum area from both sides using the
inspection windows and a sufficient light source to visually identify debris inside the area.

Information Letter
The Purpose of this information Letter, which cancels and supersedes information Letter 206-8443/206L-84-30, is to advise all model 206 operators that main rotor yokes that would normally
be rejected due to corrosion in the outboard bore may now be repaired. Repair involves
machining the outboard bore and installation of a sleeve.
