Racism
What is the racism?
The dictionary defines the racism is a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among
the various human racial groups determined cultural or individual achievement, usually
involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or
that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.
So, we can understand it as a way of discrimination:
Because it focuses on biological, real or imaginary differences which include
cultural and religious indicators.
It is an ideology:
Because it stablishes hierarchical relationships of inequality between a group of
people.
It can be presented as an anthropological and politic doctrine including the persecution
of etnics groups considered as inferior. As examples we can refer to Nazi Germany, the
Ku Klux Klan in the United States
Ethilogy
Racism has existed throughout human history. But it was in the 19th century, when
some scientists subscribed to the belief that the human population is divided into races
that some races were inferior to others, and that differential treatment of races was
consequently justified. Such theories are generally termed scientific racism.
Today, most biologists, anthropologists, and sociologists reject a taxonomy of races in
favor of more specific and/or empirically verifiable criteria, such as geography,
ethnicity, or a history of endogamy.
One of the most remebered man for his figth against racism was Marting Luther
King. He was born on January 15th, 1929. He was an American Baptist minister,
activist, humanitarian, and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He
is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil
disobedience based on his Christian beliefs. He fought agaisnt racism in United States

and gave to humanity one of the most amazing speech supporting human rights called:
I have a dream.
Nowdays countries around the world are fighting against racism and had made great
advances about equality and human right topics, but still the racism persists on
populations mind. A few weeks ago a multimillionaire man called Donald Trump said:
When Mexico sends its people, theyre not sending their best. [] Theyre sending
people that have lots of problems, and theyre bringing those problems with us. Theyre
bringing drugs. Theyre bringing crime. Theyre rapists. And some, I assume, are good
people."
We can observe how racism is deep inside in some peoples mind. Some may support
him but the biggest part of population around the world are against this kind of
comments and thoughts. As human being we have to understand that no one is superior
than anybody because the color of the skin or the ethnical ascendance.
To finish my presentation I would like to relate a part of I have a dream. The speech
of Marting Luther King and it says:
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will
not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character
