Psalm 27:14

Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!

I think waiting has to be one of the

most difficult exhortations in all
Scripture. (12 years without a real
furlough, but who is counting?) Why
is it so hard? Even though God
promises blessings for those who
wait, it is so hard because in our
flesh, we are bent to take most of
our difficulties into our own hands,
do what is right in our own eyes, and
follow our own schemes and ideas.
However, over and over we are told in Gods word wait on the Lord. It may sound like
simple faith, but we truly believe that God is in absolute control of all things, He is
Sovereign! Lord over all! And if our heavenly Father is sovereign in all things, then it is
safe to say that like the apostle Paul in the midst of a raging storm (acts 27), that storm
was the safest place on earth for him to be. For that reason, we believe He is doing the
same kind of thing in our lives as we continue to wait for Him, look for His provision and
protection and trust Him to move the hand of the Cambodian government to grant us
permission to travel together as a family to visit our families, church family and friends.
So here is where we are now and what we are waiting on and trusting the Lord for
today:
We were told officially by the Ministry of Social Affairs that the foster care system will be
shutting down permanently. The ramifications to this decision and how this will affect
Judah and Boaz are unknown at this point. This leaves Judah without a passport and
unable to travel outside of Cambodia. Please pray for us as we continue to trust the Lord
to lead, guide, give us discernment, contentment, strength, endurance, joy, and faith in
Christ alone.
Please continue to pray for our big kids who
have all transitioned out of our home and are
interacting with adult and independent
decisions. Pray that the Holy Spirit would move
their hearts to remember the great and mighty
things Jesus Christ has done for them and all
that He accomplished in their midst. Pray for us
and for opportunities to continue to proclaim
the gospel of Christ and demonstrate our faith in Christ as we continue to love on them
and interact with them.

Sarah is in her senior year at Logos International School and is being challenged in many
areas. Please pray for her and for us as we seek to love, encourage, and support her
through the many challenges she will face this year.
Wejeka is working full time at a Christian, Khmer, grade school as an administrative
assistant and translator. Please pray that she would grow in her faith and trust Jesus to
help her overcome the obstacles in her life that prevent her from doing what God has
called her to do.
Tola is training for a job on a Khmer cruise ship as the restaurant manager. Pray that the
Lord would use this time and opportunity to stir Tola's heart to remember who he is and
what and whom he was created for.
Mary Magdalena film project update: Jesus Films recently sent us the master copy of the
film and now we are preparing for the DVD to be released in Cambodia. Pray for a
venue to do a premier showing of the film and creative and exciting ways of distributing
the DVD's.
Boaz continues to discover exciting
things with his new vision since his
eye surgery in May! We are in awe
of God for His provision and
healing! Thank you for giving and
praying! Praise the Lord and rejoice
with us!
Life here in Cambodia has
been difficult, messy, and at times
heart wrenching, especially the last
five years. Our mainstay is our
belief that Lord God Almighty is at
work in our hearts and lives in the midst of the storms and afflictions, whether we see it
or not. As we look back and remember what the Lord has done and what He has
accomplished, it causes us to bow down and worship our Savior Jesus. So thank you for
standing with us, bearing with us, interceding for us, and sacrificing for us. We are able
to answer the Lord's call on our lives by His grace and your faithfulness to the Lord and
to us. We appreciate you and thank the Lord for you. May He continue the work He
started in each of us and receive the reward of His suffering. It is our honor to partner
with you in this gospel ministry to the people of Cambodia.
