From artist Pio Abad comes a major solo exhibition, The Collection of Jane
Ryan and William Saunders. Step into UP Vargas Museum on August 28 to
September 30 to witness Abads employment of the means of art to unravel
from seemingly mundane objects their social and political messages of power.
Among the artworks featured is the painting on the miracle of fishes also
known as The Miraculous Drought of Fishes by Tintoretto, whose presence
seeks for its authenticity to be questioned. Most artworks are choreographed
to display a discourse between singularity, surplus, and semblance. The
exhibition opens at August 28, 6 pm. Arrive earlier to get to know the artist at
the Artist Talk to be held on the same day at 4 pm, before the exhibit.
