question.TomyunderstandChinaisanautocracy,butonethathasgivenwaytoavery
specific, and to the issues that matter (economic policy, planning and development)
focuses.
TheideaofaslowingintheChineseeconomyisscaryfortheobviousreasons:
Chinasmightyeconomy,anditsdividends,isoneofthecoreelementsthatkeepthe
countrytogether.Theideaofstrikesacrossthecountry,andthewillingnessofthelocal
governmentstopaythemoff,provesbaffling.Iknowwehaventtalkedaboutcentralized
government or specialization when relinquishing some powers to provinces, but that
notion goes against every known quantity of how an autocracy works. Granted, I
understandthereprobablywillnotbeanotherTiananmenSquare,butitisquiteshocking
theideaofpayingoffstrikes.
However, what is interesting is the idea that businesses leadership is always
gone,aspolicecanfindreasonstojailforbribesalonganyothercommonwaysinChina
todobusiness.Likeanycountry,Chinahascorruption,butinthesense,doesithintatthe
factsomepartsofitspolicytosupportindustrycanintheshortbedetrimentaltotheir
state?
Onethingisforsure:themigrationsfromtheinwardprovincestopopulation
