20m (21yds) of 4ply/fingering/

M1A: Make 1 away: make a backwards loop to create


an extra stitch on the current row with the yarn
facing away from the direction of knitting

This is a very simple little pattern for a capelet which is knitted flat and worked from the top down in garter
stitch. It can be adjusted to whatever length you'd prefer. Here I've used a Drops Alpaca boucl yarn for a cosy
faux fur effect on the top capelet and Rowan Kidsilk Haze for a wispy, delicate capelet below.

M a k i n g:
Starting at the neck, cast on 32 stitches using 2.75mm needles and your chosen yarn.

Finishing:
There are no seams, so just weave in both tail ends before trimming excess yarn. Sew on two 6 inch lengths of
thin satin ribbon at both sides of the neck, pop the capelet on your knitted animal and tie the ribbon lengths
together in a bow.
