Obituary
Lawrence Franklin Wapples Sr. was born on February 7, 1948 to Emma Wapples and
Melvin Wapples. He passed from this life early Saturday morning, October 17, 2015 in Villa Rica,
GA at Tanner Hospital.
He was a resident of Richmond, Virginia from birth until he graduated from Maggie Walker High
School. After graduation, he relocated to Jamaica, New York and attended Adelphi Business
College where he earned a Business Degree.
He began his professional career in New York as a bank teller and owner of a taxi cab business at
21 years of age and was known in the cab business as Youngblood. During this time he was
drafted into the Armed Forces of the United States in 1970 and later released with an honorable
discharge.
He was united in holy matrimony to Patricia Holloway on June 30, 1973. After marriage, he
received salvation and was ordained as a minister in his early 20s. He attended Bible College
under the tutelage of the late Bishop William Lee Bonner. Also, as a young entrepreneur, he
became part owner of a diner located in South Ozone Park.
In 1977, he relocated to Birmingham, AL and became one of the best car salesman throughout the
Southeast and received several Salesman of the Year plaques for many years while continuing
to study the Word of God under the leadership of the late Overseer Chanie Holloway.
In 1984, God called him into Apostleship and he became the pastor of Inglenook Church of God
and later established and founded Truth & Deliverance Ministries at 4th Terrace North-Smithfield,
AL for several years. Many ministries derived out of this and he established several churches
throughout the country, and became the Apostle and Overseer of seven churches between
Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Many lives were touched by him as a leader in the fivefold
ministry as he taught the word and sold many cars around the country.
He would always say as he ministered, Ive Got to Obey God, Hello Walls, Its Tight
but its Right and lastly CANT NOBODY DO YOU LIKE JESUS.
As an entrepreneur, he owned 4 car lots while preaching the gospel and helping others become
auto owners. If anyone needed an automobile, many were sent to him for his positive attitude and
willingness to help everyone.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and grandson, Lyndon Dubose. He leaves to cherish his
memory and continue legacy, his beloved wife Patricia Wapples, seven children; Lawrence Wapples Jr.
(Shawn), Reginald Wapples, David Wapples, Roderick Harris (Tracie), Daphne Holloway, Cherise
Dubose, PaTrice Wapples, Kia Holloway (honorary daughter) ; eleven grandchildren; Sherena Wapples,
Rod Parks, Cherlyn Dubose, Rico Parks, Ariel Parks, Daniel Dubose, Jasmine Dubose, Amyah Dowdy,
Christina Wapples, and Charles Wapples; ten great grandchildren, one Godchild (Wanda) and a host of
nieces, nephews, extended brothers, sisters, sons, daughters in the Lord.

Don't Grieve For Me

Don't grieve for me, for I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow,
My life's been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wanted me now, He has set me free.
