HALYARD CORPORATE OVERVIEW

THE ORIGIN OF OUR

NAME & LOGO
One of the first, and most important, ways that people will experience
us as a new company will be through our name and logo.
These elements have been carefully crafted to represent our vision,
aspirations and how we want to be seen by the world as we enter the
next chapter in our journey as anorganization.

HALYARD

[hal-yerd]
OUR NAME

OUR LOGO

Halyard [hal-yerd] is a nautical term referring to the line used for

hoisting the sails that propel a ship forward. As a halyard is critical to
forward progress, our name Halyard symbolizes our mission to advance
health and healthcare by preventing infection, eliminating pain, and
speeding recovery. As a word, halyard is distinct, easy to pronounce, and
memorable. As a name, Halyard carries many positive connotations and
can be a strong metaphor for many aspects of our brand and business:

Just as our name suggests progress, our logo is a powerful symbol for
advancement and forward movement. The icon for Halyard suggests
the sails of a shipin motion, bringing further connection back to the
origin of the name as well as our organizations purpose.

As a halyard raises a ships sails we seek to raise the bar and the
standards and quality of healthcare

Our primary color, Halyard blue symbolizes strength and stability,

while bright Halyard green signifies innovation and technology,
a critical piece of our business strategy moving forward. The
circular holding shape is apowerful, confident mark, meant to
symbolize our global approach and our desire to impact the broader
healthcare landscape.

As a halyard enables acceleration across the water we strive to

accelerate positive change and improvement in our industry
As a halyard requires teamwork we believe teamwork is critical
to better results and outcomes
As a halyard is also used to raise a flag for all to see we are putting
a stake in the ground and moving into a new era for our company

WE HAVE BEEN IN THE BUSINESS OF

INNOVATING HEALTHCARE SINCE 1918
With origins tracing back to surgical dressings used
in World War I, Kimberly-Clark launched its health
care business in the late 1970s. Its products used
patented, innovative non-wovens technology
to provide protection from liquids while remaining
breathable. These fabrics were ideal for use in
hospitals for sterilization wrap, protective apparel
and draping for patients, because they provided a
higher level of protection and enhanced sterility
over cotton- and paper-based products.
By acquiring Ballard Medical Products, the business
sharpened its focus on medical devices beginning in
2005 and continued to build out the Medical Devices
business. Kimberly-Clark acquired Baylis Medicals
pain management device business and I-Flow
Corporation, which offered elastomeric infusion
pumps used in surgical pain management and other
infusion therapies in 2009.
In order to elevate its focus on innovation within
the healthcare space, the business spun off from
Kimberly-Clark as Halyard Health in 2014.
